In Houston, Texas, a man was convicted of driving drunk. He was going 120 miles per hour in a car with three of his kids. A two-year-old died. Since he was a repeat offender, he was sentenced to 22 months is jail.

In Dallas, a man was convicted of exposing himself to two girls. Since he was a repeat offender, he was sentenced to 10 years in jail.

The Dallas guy was ordered to register as a sex offender. The Houston guy was not required to register as anything.

THIS is what is wrong with our society -- an idiot who drops his pants is deemed more dangerous than a guy who kills one of his one kids in a car wreck.
Who do you want living in YOUR neighborhood -- a guy with a history of dropping his pants, or a guy known to get drunk and drive at high speeds down residential streets?

I am actually of the opinion that sex crimes may be one of the few things worse than murder. Especially when against children because it not only scars them for life but the rest of their family for generations.

With that being said, i cant believe he got off with 22 months. My guess is he plead down.

There is more injustice than the two cases you state. As to who I would rather have as a neighbor, it doesn't matter to me as I have a friend who is a convicted murderer around the corner.

Do you realize how utter ridiculous your statement is? Seriously...
Consider this -- you are a father with two daughters. One sees a guy's dick and is traumatized. The other gets hit by a drunk driver and is dead.
Which makes you feel worse?

How about neither? This is why every neighborhood should have a leadership council--to keep riff-raff out.

Either way, I want to kill them both.

Texas - Woman asks Man to beat her pregnant belly until the baby aborts. He goes to jail for 'harming a fetus' - SHE "has a right to end her pregnancy".

fwiw, I sort of side with Avatar here. Sex crimes often do MORE damage than 'a' murder. I see where he's going with that, at least. We've all ready about boys being molested by a homo-uncle somewhere, grow up to BE homos, molest other boys, etc...

I love Gabby's spin - Now, the guy was driving down a RESIDENTIAL street at 100mph +.... oh boy.

I side with Gabby on this one. How can you say that flashing someone is worse than killing them?

I'd put the drunk driver in jail for as long as possible.

Except this was a minor sex crime. He showed his dick to them. That's not rape. One could argue that soft porn on TV does more damage.

You can't expect a drunk guy to realize what kind of street he is on.
I love how the puritanical folks equate flashing with murder. Like they are in any way equal.

The driver needs to go to huntsville and collect a needle. That needs to happen anytime you kill someone during the commission of any crime.

Agreed. For the flasher that is.

Of course I can expect...... etc etc. It is the non-judgemental philosophy that causes us to rationalize away crimes. HE chose to get drunk, chose to drive, thus he chose the street.

Flashing is in no way equal to murder. Which is why I believe that simply castrating the flasher and then barbituates for life is sufficient. This is to ensure that any lingering rage about his nutless-ness won't transform into other violence.

I'm continually amazed at the ease in which people staunchly the support the mutilation of a man as a just punishment for his crimes.

Those vengeful types who fantasize about castration need to realize that it is not a cure all for sex crimes. It's like telling women who have too many kids that they need to be sterilized.
Most sex crimes have very little to do with sex. They are more about power (or lack of such) and mental instability.
