Meet President Rush Limbaugh and Vice President Ann Coulter
Posted by Noel Sheppard on February 14, 2007 - 22:56.
As NewsBuster Matt Sheffield reported Wednesday, Fox News will be introducing a new comedy this coming Sunday called “The Half Hour News Hour.” FNC previewed another segment (h/t Hot Air) with Rush Limbaugh as the new president in January 2009.

It appears that Limbaugh won after another “bitter recount,” and the loser, Howard Dean, is now “finally getting the medical attention he has so desperately needed for so long.”

His vice president, Ann Coulter, informed viewers that if they don’t watch the show, “We will invade your countries, kill your leaders, and convert you to Christianity.”

I saw the clip with Rush & Coulter... funny stuff. The anchors in the little piece seemed a bit stiff, though.

Coulter really doesn't do a LOT for me. She's generally right - but sometimes she's 'so right' it gets annoying. Sorta like Hannity.

It's not her "rightness" that is annoying... it's her abrasiveness. Abrasiveness in a woman is ESPECIALLY intolerable, however it might be tolerated in men. Sexist, but true. :)

I'm getting a DVR this weekend and not a moment too soon!

Perhaps Ann Coulter is abrasive, but she's on our side.... there's a time for peace and a time for war, a time for being demure and time for being outspoken....

Why can't there just be a time for peace and a time for being demure?

You'll have to ask the Islamofascists and Anna Nicole Smith. :)

She's funny, assertive, strong and smart. Whether you agree with her politics or not, she has "skills". If she didn't use humor to couch some of her anger she'd be a hell of a lot more than "abrasive". I like it when a woman uses her skills rather than her gender to succeed !

I have to say something about this. Whenever a conservative criticized Hillary Clinton back when she was First Lady, the press would insinuate that those who did were "afraid of strong women".

Now, the Right has a strong voice with Ann Coulter (and to a lesser extent, Laura Ingraham). So what do we hear? Nothing but criticism of both of them from the Left.

I should think that the amateur psychoanalysts in the Press Corp would be all over that, but noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!

As for a time for peace and being demure --- fat chance. The Left has declared war on the right. We get served up with the epithet du jour thanks to Pelosi, Reid, Clinton, Gore, and a host of other big mouths. We on the Right have to push back and beat the Left at its own game!

Crazy conspiracy theories that hyperbolize the power of the democratic party aside, the foundational kernel of the debate between the left and the right is that of change vs. the status quo. Conservatives do not want to try something new and different from the tried and true and the Liberals want to change what they see as a broken system to see if they can improve it.

Anne Coulter is not a strong voice. She a vengeful, lunatic voice who is full of hate. Laura Ingraham is the same. Both of these women live in glass houses and if they obtained half the "voice" you say they do, they'd be running for office instead of insulting the players from the sidelines.

What the heck are you talking about? Who is for fixing social security? Who was for welfare reform? Who is for school vouchers? Who is for actually looking at someones actions rather then their skin color?

Conservatives.

And who has been fighting for the status quo? Liberals. You guys have had it your way for nearly 50 years. You guys are the ones who BROKE the system. And every time we try to fix it you oppose it. You want to throw money at it and pretend as though that will fix things. it doesnt.

You can't be serious. With Republicans in power we saw the most uncontrolled government spending in US History. Who stands up and beats their chests with a flag-wrapped Bible everytime any minority group (other than fanatical Christians) attempts to further its own agenda? Republicans. Which group cries socialism every time legislation is introduced that uses tax money to help give the poor a step-up in the world but whenever ANY legislation using yet more tax money for the latest military campaign to slaughter brown people is introduced, they write a blank check? Republicans. Which group keeps beating the dead horse of "abstinence only education" even though the last 50 years has shown it doesn't work? Republicans. Which party actively attempts to disenfranchise and refute the findings of well-meaning scientists every time a discovery is made that (in their view) seems to contradict religious docrine? Republicans. Which party cares more about the lives of unborn, unwanted people than they do about grown people living in poverty here in the US? Republicans.

Conservatives try to conserve the way of the past rather than make progress for the future. In fact, when they succeed in changing something back to their antiquated way of doing things, they call it "progress." The ultimate outrage. And yet we're bombarded daily with roaring assholes like Rush Limbaugh and Anne Coulter who spew their hatred out to millions and claim that the evil "left" is out to control everyone. And you guys buy it all hook line and sinker because you're too afraid to accept people who believe or act differently than you do or to try something new.

You lost me right there. Dude - WE ARE IN A WAR!!! did you expect spending to go DOWN? The only thing that went DOWN when Clinton was in office was his Intern.

Colbert is the ONLY show I miss now that I don't have cable. I'm sure due to its topical nature, it'll be hard to put it on DVD, too.

Half Hour News SUCKED...everyone said so...even conservatives and comedians not familiar with politics.

It was a failure.

Face it, nothing will ever be as good as The Daily Show.

This thread was started back in February, they were talking about Half Hour News, and yes, it sucked. It was cancelled.

As far as nothing ever being as good as The Daily Show, that's a mighty big statement. The original Weekend Update on SNL was much better than TDS. Who knows what the future holds.
