| Reputation Explained |
What is the reputation system and how does it work? - User Reputation in
its simplest form is a ranking of your user's benefit to your forum. Its basis
comes from the opinions of all of your forum users that choose take part in it.
Users gain and lose reputation based on how their posts are scored by other
forum participants. Users with the ability to affect reputation, will either
give or take away points by approving or disapproving with a post's content.
As your reputation points and activity increase, so will your reputation power.
While the rep points show your total points, your rep power is how many positive
or negative points will be applied when using for others.
Here are the current settings of the reputation system:
Default Reputation upon joining: 10
Number of Reputation Ratings to Display: 10
Administrator's Reputation Power: 0 (means use the same rules as everyone else)
Register Date Factor: 30 (1 point awarded every 30 days)
Post Count Factor: 100 (1 point for every 100 posts)
Reputation Point Factor: 100 (For every X points of reputation, users gain 1 point of reputation-altering power)
Minimum Post Count: 10 (Posts needed before your rep counts)
Minimum Reputation Count: 10 (Rep count must be this high before counting on others)
Daily Reputation Clicks Limit: 15 (How many reputation clicks can a user give over each 24 hour period)
Reputation User Spread: 8 (How many different users must you give reputation to before you can hit the same person again)
Please remember, this system determines a members
reputation on the board. It is not a popularity contest, nor is it a means of retribution. It should reflect a members posting ability, not whether or not you agree or disagree with a post. Use the system as intended and the results will be much more accurate. Moderators and Administrators reserve the right to look into complaints of abuse, and correct accordingly.
