    Default Independence Day

For Texas, that is. On March 2, 1836, delegates at Washington (later known as Wahington-on-the-Brazos) approved the Texas Declaration of Independence. The declaration came as the Alamo was under seige. Seven weeks later, however, Sam Houston routed Santa Anna's army at San Jacinto and captured the Mexican dictator, demanding recognition of Texan independence in return for his release.

    Happy 171st birthday, Texas!!!

And March 6 is Alamo day.

You get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you do with just a kind word.

And the Mexicans are trying to take it back while no one's paying attention.

Not yet, we could still give it to the French.

    Course, they would just surrender.
