Even if he's a closet Muslim, I don't think he said that in reference to being a Muslim. I think he was just trying to say that McCain has not tried to accuse him of being one and it was a tongue tied slip.
A little chaos never hurt anyone... in fact, it only helps rectify how you feel about things!

Actually he is accusing the McCain camp of putting doubts in people's mind about him being a Muslim.
