Default Worst financial crisis since the Great Depression

Barrack Obama claims we a re in the most serious financial crisis since the Great Depression. So does he show any leadership in fixing it? No he tells people that if he's needed to call him. Great. That's what a President needs to do.

Meanwhile we get told that President Bush waiting 7 minutes after the 9/11 attacks so not to scare children by running out like a lunatic is a sign of incompetence. Or not flying immediate to New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina is a sign that he's too stupid to know what to do.

And of course, McCain is the one that's supposedly falling apart right now... right.
If we were as industrious to become good as to make ourselves great, we should become really great by being good, and the number of valuable men would be much increased; but it is a grand mistake to think of being great without goodness; and i pronounce it as certain that there was never yet a truly great man that was not at the same time truly virtuous." - Ben Franklin

Hmmm, I wonder if his personal account was with Merrill Lynch or AGI?

I'm not so sure I approve of the bailout, but I am also not sure that we had any choice in the matter.

I'm actually surprised that Congress acted so quickly to get something done in the matter, especially with McCain stating he was suspending his campaign to deal with the issue. I am surprised the Dems didn't drag their feet as long as they could in order to keep McCain in Washington.

I suppose I should say that I was wrong in the other thread about Congress not being able to get anything done that quickly.

I suggest you wait till they actually vote it. That hasn't happened yet.
