Default The urgent vote for spendulus

Nancy Pelosi will undoubtedly waive the standard 72 hour review of the legislation tomorrow and demand a vote following establishing the rule and the time for debate.

Do you think the Republicans should ask for the House to adjourn and if so how many times tomorrow?

Or, do you think they should just walk out since they are in no way associated with the legislation?

Do you think the Republicans should require the Clerk read the entire bill so the public has time to digest the great spending exercise?

    http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-me...ore-signing-b/

Sunlight Before Signing: Too often bills are rushed through Congress and to the president before the public has the opportunity to review them. As president, Obama will not sign any non-emergency bill without giving the American public an opportunity to review and comment on the White House website for five days.

Of course the key word here is "non-emergency." Obama will probably argue that the stimulus bill counts as an emergency. However even if this is the case, he's already on record as breaking this campaign promise with earlier legislation he signed.

Only fools believe you can spend yourself into prosperity.

Compare it to running up a major credit card debt and then getting one more credit card thinking it will all be okay.

Default Does Pelosi Want Members to Vote for Pprk Bill BEFORE Reading It?

Looks like Speaker Pelosi is wanting members to vote for the mega pork bill before the read it, or see what is in it

Pelosi Ready To Move On Stimulus, Happy To Meet With GOP

Congressional Republicans have been pressuring Democrats to give them 48 hours to review the stimulus package before a vote is called.

The bill has yet to be fully written and released, but a vote is still likely Friday.

The combined House and Senate packages weigh in at more than 1400 pages, a reporter pointed out to Majority Whip James Clyburn (D-SC).

"So what?" he said. "I'm not a speed-reader, but that's why I have staff." Clyburn said that comparing bills side-by-side to look for changes as the bill has evolved the last several days hasn't taken him long.

Just curious, but do you normally post multiple threads on pretty much the same topic?

Classact's thread here: http://www.debatepolicy.com/showthread.php?t=21396 pretty much already covers this, but you felt the need to post not one, not two, but three additional threads on the way the bill is being rushed and the reasons behind it.

Just gives off the impression you feel the need to shout. Next time, please use capital letters too so we really know how you feel.

I did not see CA's thread - so the mods can now merge them
