Almost 18,000 Duke Customers Lose A/C

A mistake by Duke Energy caused almost 18,000 customers to lose air conditioning Monday evening.

The customers, who are participating in the Power Manager program, lost their A/C for several hours. The energy-saving program uses a radio-controlled device that cycles air conditioners on and off during peak usage times.
