Here's another piece of advice, next time you look into buying a computer get a MAC.
You get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you do with just a kind word. ~ Gaffer

Admittedly, I didn't read every post in this thread in entirety. But I wanted to follow up on good protection tactics for those who are afraid of getting hijacked, viruses, malware....

I've been servicing computers for well over 15 years and have tried every program out there and have seen every technical issue out there related to the 'net. Here's the best combo I have found to protect yourself...

    1) Be behind a router or hardware device that offers protection
    2) Have a software firewall running (Zonealarm)
    3) Virus software running, I have found "Avast" to be the best by far. They offer a free version but I use the Pro version
    4) Use "AdAware" and run the program to check for spyware at least once every 48hrs.
    5) Tune Up Utilities is a program that cleans your computer and registry. I run this before every reboot.
    6) Spybot - great for spyware and malware - I run once per week.

It seems like a lot but it's not. I've been error free ever since running this combo, and it's really not a lot of time to run them....

    Zone Alarm - http://www.zonealarm.com/security/en/home.htm
    Avast - http://www.avast.com/
    AdAware - http://www.lavasoft.com/
    Spybot - http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html
    Tune Up Utilities - http://www.tune-up.com/products/tuneup-utilities/

Feel free to ask or PM me if you have any issues using these or finding them.

I have one to add, that I run everyday, before getting online. It scans for spy-ware, ad ware, security issues, registry errors, disc defrag. and a few others. I use the free version but they have an advanced version you can purchase as well.

Yes, go back and read the instructions I posted for hijack this and then post the log file for me to review. I will then tell you what you can safely remove from your computer.

My guess is you have something embedded in your registry that is causing this issue. When you post the log file I will be able to see what is causing the problem in your registry.

Not unless they have dropped a file into your registry, and if that's the case you don't want it.

    That could be the problem....lol
