Because I have loved old flicks since I was a kid, we opened a small video store in the 90's, which has since met with its demise. I have seen so many flicks over the years the titles escape me. What the old classic flicks of yesteryear had, todays movies lack. But by the same token, the new flicks of today, are so far above the old ones, in theatrical stunts etc. While there were flash and bright lights in many bygone ones, they don't compare by todays standards, in that respect. Still..........they are the ones I keep running to when I need to get away for a couple of hours. They make me smile. Or maybe cry. I laugh. I sigh. And when I think of all the movies from the earlier days of Hollywood that are lost and gone forever, it makes me sad, like I've lost an old friend, because I will never be able to see them again.

Like many old black and whites, the film that was used, was degradable and were lost before the studios were able to transfer them onto new film, as it became available. Thus...the only copies of such wonderful movies have met with their demise as well...
