Humanity is taxing the means of nature to supply our wants and needs. Eventually, we'll have to implement a system of rational allocation to equitably distribute our scarce resources.

"Scarce resources" is a term of art used to emphasize the finite nature of all resources. Some substitution is possible now but eventually substitutions will fail to solve our problems.Which resources are scarce that can't be substitued for others?
