Genghis Khan and the Mongols really were amazing with area conquered, don't you think? It was hard enough to take the Mediterranean countries as demonstrated only by very powerful empires, the Mongols did it after conquering Asia.
I didn't know Saladin had as much real estate under his control as he did, either. His borders went much further South than I understood.
