    Default Pickle Juice

    Do you drink it?

I do, my wife thinks it's weird.

    Your wife's right.
When I die I'm sure to go to heaven, cause I spent my time in hell.

You get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you do with just a kind word.

I've actually seen it bottled as a soft drink on the supermarket shelves. Has to be the salty dill juice though. Juice left in olive jars is tasty too.

MMMMMMmmm yes I'll drink the olive juice. Especially if it's the juice from the jalapeno stuffed green olives. YUMMY

My 8 yr old daughter likes pickle juice. She drank it last week and freaked out her friends.

I do not drink pickle juice. Never tried it, but now I never will. Too much sodium. Low salt diets SUCK.

I'm telling you, run 5 miles a morning and you can eat/drink anything you want. My wife measured my caloric intake last week. Five thousand calories a day on average LOL I salt my salt and butter my butter. I hate running, but I would hate to give up the foods I enjoy even more.

Congestive heart failure at age 49 diagnosed in April followed by near total kidney failure in June. I take 11 pills every morning to control my blood pressure that got to 240/160 in March. I'm seeing the head of the Indiana University cardiac center every few months to control it. No one can figure out what is wrong with me (OK, my wife has some analysis but I'm not sure it pertains to my physical health). The only risk factor I have is that my biological dad had high blood pressure in the 70s.

I'm not running 5 miles anytime soon. I try to walk as much as I can everyday (prob 2-3 miles).

Had to go look. At my last physical my BP was 118/78. I'm 6' even 195 lbs . Standing heart rate of 68 bpm. And my total cholesterol was 184.

Well f*ck you, Mr Married to Child Bride. Add some hard liquor to that pickle juice you're quaffing down.

I VERY rarely drink hard liqour, and only about a 6 pack of beer a month on average. No coffee, no smokes. No other drugs. I DO drink quite a bit of soda though.

Since you are a runner, drinking pickle juice is probably a good thing. A long time ago when I was preggers my doctor told me pickle juice helps prevent muscle cramps.

At any rate here is a real good recipe for refrigerator pickles. No canning involved, and they last for awhile.

    Almost Hands-Free Dill Pickles

    Ingredients:
    Directions
    1. Place the cucumbers in a 1-quart jar or some other container with a tight-fitting lid.
    2. In a bowl, combine the vinegar, onion, garlic, sugar, dill seed, peppercorns, bay leaf, 2 teaspoons salt, and ¾ cup hot tap water. Stir until the sugar dissolves.
    3. Pour the vinegar mixture into the jar with the cucumbers, cover, and refrigerate for at least 1 day before serving. The pickles will last up to 1 week.

that looks good, I love making refrigerator pickles. We grow cucumbers and they are one of those vegetables that just take off when they are in season. Sometimes we have more than we know what to do with.
