Default Enjoy Holiday Dessert Without Busting Your Diet

Okay...since most women I know complain about the weight they gain during the holidays due to the yummy desserts,I found this set of tips. Tells you how to enjoy the sweets...while at the same time saving you some of the extra calories. Interesting tidbit #1...taking away 5 nuts on your pecan pie can save you 100 calories.

Americans are preparing for the sumptuous feasts coming up this holiday season.
Keri Glassman, a registered dietitian and Women's Health magazine contributing editor, visited "Good Morning America" to reveal which sweets are least likely to destroy your diet and to show you how you can cut calories from four pies you'll most likely see on the dessert table.
    Here are her tips.
All nutritional information is based on one-eighth of a whole pie

    Pumpkin Pie

Pumpkin pie is generally the best pick on the dessert table. Because it's an open-face pie and has less crust, it generally has fewer calories per slice than many other pies.
One slice contains 361 calories, 14 grams of fat (5 grams saturated) and 21 grams of sugar.

Tip: If you cut off about half the crust -- crust on the back of the slice -- you can cut about 70 calories.

Diet? Only diet around here is the "see-food" one.

Ummmm ... wanna come work with me and chase the minions around? Either one will cut off any excess - guaranteed. If working with me doesn't solve the problem, you can work with my sister (AKA Simon Legree).

My minions have drama but apparently not like what you're dealing with. They have their issues but since none have hit puberty yet, it ain't so bad.

Uh huh. Explain that to Jess and the three gelflings with hollow legs. I'me 4 times the size of the smallest and he'll STILL pack away twice as much food as I do.

Yeah sure...as soon as I find the time.

I have tons of work here that I ignore...for instance about 12 bags of leaves I should have been raking up. However... it was much more fun (and beneficial) to flirt with the garder guy while standing there all innocent like in my ICEE t-shirt. He and his brother are coming back next week to do the job for me.

Maybe we can have my two girls challenge them to an eat off. My kids can pack it away...even though one of them is only a size 1 little blond twig.

HAH! Ours are raked up. Sitting in bags in front of the garage. Jess says it's too cold to burn them right now.

No. It is too cold for me to go outside right now. I'm resting and relaxing for a few more hours.

Flirting with the gardener guy is definitely good for you. I always do like to watch a man work.
