You're kidding. It's a major putdown to call a lesbian a "dyke" especially in anger.

The first time I remember hearing the term was from a girl I was dating in college. She told me she was one and used that term. I thought she was giving me the brush off. She said I could still date her, but wanted me to know what I was getting and why it would never go beyond kissing.
