The idea that Israel is allowed to spy on the US is ludicrous. Tell that to the Israeli spy who was recently sentenced to life in prison for spying on the US.

If iran sent a virus to US computers it would be an act of war. They try to do it all the time though. There are thousands of attempts every day by a variety of hackers, domestic and foreign. The US and Israel got lucky and one of their attempts succeeded. Neither admitted to it, though the leaks for political gain suggested it was done, most probably Israel's doing with help from the US. Is it an act of war? Sure. Can anyone prove who did it? Nope.

I don't think I've seen Jim say that (oh you mean it is possible to defend the truth even when you're upset with someone, what a novel concept)

In fact traditionally , spies and the governments which control them consider themselves to be purveyors of peace and that is how it worked during for example the Cold War. We spied on the Soviet Union trying to steal enough secrets to keep them from going to war, and they did the same. Technically a crime, but punishable in most cases by expulsion from whichever country you were spying in.

Of course we can't operate in that fashion with the Middle Eastern countries (save perhaps Israel ) because we couldn't trust them to reciprocate.

Spying isn't an act of war though.

Yep... China does this almost EVERY day. they have hacked into our electric grid and other utilities. Iran tries all the time as well.

Not an act of war unless they take over our systems and cause massive damage in my book. hell our military shouldn't be on ANY type of public grid anyway!!!!
