The sky being blue is an illusion,due to rayleigh scattering. Blue light is more prone to reach you because it is being absorbed by the gas in the atmosphere... then scattered because it is short wave length light. The other colors of light... yellow,red,orange...are long wavelength light and pass srtaight through without being effected by the air.
