    The advent of 24-hour news cycles and multiple broadcast and cable channels means that tragedies of this magnitude will always be blown out of proportion. The race is always on to see who can report what first and who can scoop the other. That is why you have gaffes like at ABC. Sometimes the deadline pressure is so intense that traditional fact checking is left by the wayside.
    Every tidbit of information is like meat being dangled over a shark tank. And the sharks will always be hungry, even when there is no food left.

    I wish the media and our Judicial system would start coverin the punishment phase. I'm thinkin some Braveheart type public punishment would put an end to a bunch of these cowardly acts.

    And, as predicted, with the blood barely dry from the first mass shooting, with constant media coverage, anti-heroism, and worldwide coverage, there is another mass shooting...
