I watched a political speech tonight

I went against my normal dislike of political conventions to watch the speech made by Julian Castro, the mayor of San Antonio. Primarily because I had a chance to meet him at an education conference in Austin once.
Castro is an old school orator who likes weaving in folksy tales among his substance. He is also a huge supporter of public education. Not to mention being a very charming and attractive man who knows what women want to hear.
His speech reaffirmed my wish that he was running for president and not Obama. But perhaps that is in the future.

But, Gabby, after the Republican convention, you told us all politicians were nothing but BSers, and our enjoying their speeches was silly (paraphrasing). Sounds like you feel differently now that one of your guys is speaking.

I am thinking that I probably like the guy speaking more than his speech. Much of which was political rhetoric. I did enjoy the anecdotes of his background, which I already knew.
I didn't listen to Michelle Obama. She was a lot more interesting during the 2008 campaign, when her speeches were often unrehearsed. She sounds just like any other politician now.

Gabby, you should look up Marco Rubio .... gorgeous, driven, well spoken and charismatic. I think he's better looking than Julian.

I dunno. I've never met met Marco Rubio. How does he stand on public education?



I dunno. I think they are both fairly hot looking guys. I've always thought Latino guys were sexy.
Probably got it from my sister, who married one.

Glad to know it's the "hottness" of the politicians and not their character that's important. Someday i hope that changes.

My daughter married one and he's better looking that either of the above.

I believe Rubio is a proponent of charter schools.

I see a pattern here: A guy named Hussein Obama was a rising star, now it's a Castro. What's next an Ahmadinejad? Or a Chavez? Just asking.
