How do you tell a communist? Well, it's someone who reads Marx and Lenin. And how do you tell an anti-Communist? It's someone who understands Marx and Lenin.

Perry was too smart. Too smooth. I used to feel sorry for poor old Hamilton Burger (William Talman), you could see things unravelling and I reckon he would have been cursing under his breath. Yep Paul Drake was smooth, always coming up with that little clue for Perry.

But I still remember being mesmerised by Della Street.....

    Great tv series.

Barbara Hale was a great looking women and was always there for Perry

The entire cast was good. They worked well together and the show was a smash

Yes indeed, it was a cultural phenomenon.

It was the first lawyer show - but none came close to being as good as Perry Mason

Definitely not. We always knew he would win but it was fun watching the plot unfold. I do seem to remember though that there was one episode where he - *gasp* lost! But then he didn't really lose, I think he eventually won. Great show though, definitely one of those shows you can rightfully call "iconic" and know it means something.

I remember that one. The show opens with the jury coming in. They give the guilty verdict and issue the death sentence

Perry then solves the case before his client goes to the gas chamber

CBS got thousands of letters saying never let Perry lose a case again
