Default Which State is the most free?

Taxes are the easiest to understand indicator of freedom, because as well all know, communism is 100% taxation. But what taxes? Governments are masters of hiding taxes in fees, fines and corporate taxes, so let's look at what they spend and what they have in debt. These they cannot hide.

I used data from this source and then put it into a spreadsheet to analyze spending per capita:

    1. Idaho $7,562.50
    2. Arizona $7,700.00
    3. Nevada $7,896.55
    4. North Carolina $8,102.04
    5. Michigan $8,145.63
    6. Georgia $8,210.00
    7. New Hampshire $8,214.29
    8. Florida $8,252.48
    9. Missouri $8,300.00

Those numbers don't appear to account for income in each state. Eight grand in NH is much cheaper than eight grand in NC. Try earning six figures in NC.

That's what my boss in Boston told me when I moved to Syracuse, NY. But, my rent was cut in half and I made 25% more at work. Then when I moved to NC 11 years later the home prices were about the same, the taxes were less than 1/3 and I got another 25% raise.

The United State of "Confusion"...stretches from California to Maine, and Montana to Hawaii...Geographically speaking.

Cost of living doesn't matter in a Socialist society where Everything You own is no longer yours. But those who have nothing, get whatever they want...because You pay for it.

Well 6 figure income is nice in California so much so that the 12,000 dollars in taxes is unnoticeable.

When you compare earning power versus expenses, it's hard to beat NH. It's amazing how home/rent prices jump by being five miles inside of Mass. because it's hard to build in Mass.

Kinda doubt that a guy that uses a word "unnoticeable" makes six figs. He can't do math either, because the marginal tax rate in that range is 9.3%.

I do not like the east coast weather. Sun 340 days a year is more my liking.

Sure thing Mister Obama. They are waiting for you to get into the Limo for the trip up to the Capitol building where you can tell more lies.

The math works smarty pants-- If he made $129,000 at a 9.3% tax rate, he'd pay ~$12,000 in taxes.

Except for one job, which lasted less than 1 year, I've never done that. I've made two major moves since then, the first for love and the second for a better life for the children that that love created. When I moved each time I got a better job but only because I had hit the glass ceiling at my old job.

I can think of several; all of them oil operators. Union too; the real kicker is their union contracts actually net them less money (almost half) in bonuses. They're idiots; but they make a grip of coin.
