I definitely have faith in the free market, but when unions, corporate lobbyists, and socialists (like The Hildabeast) put so much governmental fiat directly into the middle of the market, how free is it? You can't buy raw milk due to a government fiat mandating pasteurization for all dairy products. If I know it's not pasteurized, shouldn't I be allowed to decide for myself if I'm willing to risk drinking it? It's also illegal to import European cheese for the same reason, but I rarely see Euros walking around with mass infections from cheese cultures. If I think it's worthwhile to work for only $2/hour, why should I be forbidden by the federal government? What if I don't care how well my car crumples in an accident? Then there's talks of this fairness doctrine which will all but remove my ability to choose what media I consume. The free market is a wonderful thing...if it's free.
As for rebellion against the government, I don't think we're there yet, but I've begun to think it's inevitably moving that way. I think that within my lifetime (I'm 24), we, the people, will have to either fight or accept our chains. While nobody can, with all honesty, say what they'd do in that situation, I'm leaning towards fight. Chains suck.

Name one thing the government does better than the private sector and I'll show you something that requires the use of force to accomplish.
