Default Ricin Confirmed Regarding Letter Sent To Senator

    http://q13fox.com/2013/04/16/reports-envelope-sent-to-senators-office-tests-positive-for-poison-ricin/#axzz2QfZVoTKGp=631426#post631426

Envelope sent to senator’s office tests positive for poison ricin

WASHINGTON — An envelope that tested positive for the deadly poison ricin and was addressed to an office of Sen. Roger Wicker, R-Miss., was intercepted Tuesday afternoon at the Capitol’s off-site mail facility in Washington.

CNN, Politico.com and CBS, citing sources, all reported the envelope tested positive for Ricin, and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., later confirmed it.

After the envelope tested positive in a first routine test, it was retested two more times, each time coming up positive, a law enforcement source said, but it was sent a Maryland lab for further testing.

Ricin is a highly toxic substance derived from castor beans. As little as 500 micrograms — an amount the size of the head of a pin — can kill an adult. There is no specific test for exposure and no antidote once exposed.

Considering yesterday, this is downright weird.

What nobody is talking about I remember reading long ago. Is it possible it could be North Korean agents that did the deed? I remember years back a comment about it being a known fact that North Korea had saboteur agents here waiting to do whatever they were ordered to do.
As of now our media favors blaming it on right wing groups here.
As if radical muslim terrorist groups have suddenly lost interest in attacking us!
Just more of the leftist media's attempting to aid its allies.

If the lousy obama admin announces soon that it was masterminded by Syrian agents I'll know it was a false flag attack designed to give reason and gain support to help the muslim Syrian rebels. -Tyr

Hold on - maybe there is not an issue here

A personal briefing by the head of Homeland Security and the director of the FBI for a possible false positive?

CNN says the letter never made it to the Hill. It was caught at an off-site mail facility, tested, re-tested, re-re-tested and then sent to a lab in Maryland. But there’s probably more out there, just because Wicker’s one of the most random low-profile members of the Senate. Unless someone’s running a vendetta against him for reasons we don’t know, there’s no reason to single him out. He must have been targeted because he’s part of something — part of the Senate/Congress, part of the GOP, maybe part of some coalition on a particular vote — and that means the other parts are in danger too. Stand by for updates.

Update: More from Politico. Very strange — maybe a vendetta after all, and to all appearances not linked to Boston.
Sen. Claire McCaskill (D-Mo.) said members were briefed that the substance had been found in a letter and a suspect has been identified.

McCaskill said the letter came from an individual who frequently writes to lawmakers. She wouldn’t identify the person but confirmed officials had identified someone.
Turns out Napolitano and Mueller were already set to appear before the Senate to address cybersecurity and that the ricin letter “came up” at the hearing, so it’s not as urgent as it first appeared.

Update: And, thankfully, the story may be falling apart:

    Josh Kraushaar @HotlineJosh

CNN guest says he has intel that 2 of the 3 tests for ricin came back negative/inconclusive.
