Default GRAPHIC: Outrage erupts over cops killing dogs

Man this is a toss up I hate that the cops killed this dog but his owner taunted the police and the dog by going back and fourth taking pictures or so it seems , but when the police are making a important arrest maybe it isn't the best time to be walking your dog back and fourth in the same token it seems like they could of done something other than empty there guns into him

People across the country are upset with a police officer from Hawthorne, Calif., after a video of him shooting a Rottweiler went viral.
    Very upset, in fact.
So much so, that 113,000 have signed a petition calling for his resignation.
WND has reported on cases of police brutality, constitutional infringement, corruption and the militarization of police.
The response to the Hawthorne case, in which police shot an innocent bystander’s Rottweiler as officers arrested the man for recording another arrest, appears to take concern over police actions to a new level.

    THIS VIDEO IS VERY GRAPHIC

I'm afraid to watch the video, I KNOW I don't want to see dogs killed by police. I also am very concerned how many dogs have been killed by police in 'no-knock' raids:

    http://www.google.com/search?client=...UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

Just look at the number of instances. Too many of these happened when the dog wasn't even threatening people barging into the homes.

"...Family pets including German shepherds, golden retrievers, Australian shepherds, pit bulls, chihuahuas, and others have been shot –..."

    chihuahuas? gollyday.
That's a step beyond a fawns in the level of lethal viciousness that can be unleashed on an officer.

Default Two sides to every story...

Terrible, terrible, terrible....that was a beautiful and obviously loyal animal.

I"m no big fan of the police but I'm also no big fan of folks who ask for trouble....only to complain when they get it (at the expense of others). In this case it may have been the dog got the worse end of it. The only thing the dog appears to be guilty of, however, was in being loyal to an undeserving owner.

The poster who wrote the below comment seems to know a bit more about the story that explains what I suspected:

smokehill WROTE: "If they hadn't edited the video, some of these morons posting here might change their mind about whether the *** should have been arrested. The first few minutes, completely cut out, show the cops telling this punk repeatedly to get back on the other side of the street where everyone else was restricted, to secure his dog, and stop playing his radio at FULL VOLUME since it was interfering with them communicating with each other during an armed standoff. He was deliberately endangering cops (and probably others), and thought it was funny. Now his dog is dead.
But the ghetto bangers cut out all those parts, and the idiots posting here swallow it whole."

In my opinion, the cops seem to have given the guy every opportunity to do the best thing for the admirable dog who did not deserve to die for what appears to a stupid owner. It also appears that the cops did NOT shoot until it was absolutely necessary. I don't believe this dog was vicious as all but with an animal that size with an obvious concern for the owner....it appears that the dog definitely paid for what appears to be the owner's stupidity.

Was the man in the wrong? I don't know. If they were looking out for his safety during a stand-off, they may very well have been in their right. The main thing is that I would have left with my dog because I CARE for my dog and I know how much of a jerk many cops are. Besides, with a guy acting that irrationally, I'd assume he may be a threat and possibly a friend of the person they were actually focused on. In that case, I wouldn't want to be worried about bullets from my 12 and my Six. All that is not for me to figure our. All I know is (IF) I was by myself and wanting to make a statement, that's fine but if I'm with those I care about (whether my family, friends or dog) I'm going to be concerned MOSTLY for them....not trying to show my @$$. I'm not saying this guy was doing that but the evidence points in that direction. Personally, it did appear that the cops were trying to avoid taking such action. Sad really....

Agreed 100% it is a shame abeautiful Rott had to be put down because of the lack of respect this idiot had for the police , all the dog did was wrong was want to be loyal to a idiot, I think I would of felt better had they shot the dude and let the dog go to be honest, from what the video showed ( forget the 2 mins before he was a punk want to be thug )
