Default Taxpayers Foot the Hefty Bill for Obama’s Talk-Show Tour

How nice Obama gets to go on TV and act like a rock star well after hearing how the east coast is on the Gulf maybe a old rock start that did a little to much parting over the years and we get to pay for it, yes the tax payers pay for this , at least the get there and get back we pay for

When it comes to late-night comedy shows, President Obama is a prolific guest, but taxpayers might not be laughing along with him.
Mr. Obama’s televised chat Tuesday on “The Tonight Show” with Jay Leno in Los Angeles was his 10th appearance on a TV talk show while in office, outpacing all other presidents and hosts since the days of John F. Kennedy and Jack Paar in the early 1960s.
The goal of these appearances is partly to boost the president’s image and partly to promote his agenda. Taxpayers foot the bill for Mr. Obama’s high-cost travel on Air Force One.
At $180,000 per flight hour to operate the presidential aircraft, the trip cost taxpayers more than $1.8 million just for the flying time to California and back. That doesn’t include two 50-minute flights in California on Marine One, the presidential helicopter; or the cost of lodging dozens of White House staffers and Secret Service agents overnight, or the cost of 20-vehicle motorcades at the various stops.

The good thing about these appearances, he manages to prove he's at least as gaffe prone as GW was. He doesn't even bring up 'the Gulf ports.' LOL!

Obama: “Unfortunately” Dying In Car Crash More Likely Than Dying In Terrorist Attack

With four kids and a new puppy, I do not get to watch much television. This morning therefore I was probably one of the last to read this odd comment from President Barack Obama on Jay Leno last night:

“The odds of dying in a terrorist attack are a lot lower than they are of dying in a car accident, unfortunately.” It was clearly a slip of the tongue but for civil libertarians it was a signature moment since our burgeoning security state seems to be working desperately to keep fear alive. For many who have criticized the rise of the security state, it sounded like an authoritarian Freudian slip. The comment is particularly interesting in light of a recent poll showing Americans afraid more of their own government’s attack on privacy than terrorist attacks.

Despite new reports of additional massive warrantless surveillance programs, Obama continued the campaign of denial by his Administration and allies in Congress. He insisted “We don’t have a domestic spying program.” That is clearly untrue given the public acknowledgment of these programs but it does not seem to matter. As usual, Obama seems to be drawing a distinction between collecting such data on every citizen and actually using that surveillance. They only use the information in these massive databanks when they want to. It also does not seem to matter that the only serious questions on this issue for the president appear to be coming from a comedian.

On Snowden, Obama stated “We don’t know exactly what he did, except what he said on the Internet and it’s important for me not to judge.”

That is also likely to strike civil libertarians as a bit odd since this is the president that claims the right to kill any American citizen without a charge, let alone conviction, based on his own authority. He vaporized Anwar al-Aulaqi on this basis. His teenage son was killed later.

Of course this is just comedy . . . the show that is.

I generally don't have much of an issue with this. It's nitpicking and it is done by both sides depending on who is on office.

That's where all the fun is Thunderknuckles. We all know Politics, in any form is nothing but knitpicking. It's almost a sport in many ways. But your pragmatic view is most certainly...on the button. If it wasn't for all the dedicated, pure stupidity, and ignorance related to politics. We'd all be eating potatoes in SIBERIA.
