Default Another sign the US is going down hill

A new report has came out that states almost half of US births are paid for my medicaid. This is pathetic!! At the hospital where I work I've noticed that a large percentage of people in their 20's are on medicaid, especially if they are coming in pregnant. I just want to shake them. IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD A CHILD DON'T HAVE ONE.

According to researchers from the George Washington University (GWU) School of Public Health, in 2010, almost half of all births in the United States were paid for by Medicaid, and that rate is only going to go up. Medicaid was responsible for 48% of the 3.8 million births in 2010, an increase of 90,000 births from 2008, which was an 8% increase during that period.

In New York City in 2009, 76% of Hispanic births were covered by Medicaid, 70% of births in the black community were covered, and 31% of whites.

I hear you Trigg. But given the fact that they did get pregnant, I am glad they didn't choose to abort.

True. I just with that more people would take advantage of the free birth control available out there, instead of bringing more children into the world that they can't afford to raise.

Having children out of wedlock is a sure way to keep the cycle of poverty going and our jails full of men who were raised by women who couldn't control them.

Sorry if I took away from your very valid point. I totally agree that it is ridiculous and also a very bad sign for the country. I think it stems from the lack of fathers in these families, along with the decline in morality.
