Umm, they are by definition not the "lazy asses" referred to. But the problem with just raising the minimum wage is that employees are not magically more productive by whatever percentage raise that they would get. If you want to raise the real wages of those at the bottom of the scale you should raise the demand for their labor or lower the supply of low wage workers. This can be accomplished by instituting growth policies, i.e. tax cuts, and by minimizing illegal immigrants that compete directly with them for jobs. Neither of those are Democrat positions IIRC. What say you?

Sure, it costs more and more and McDonald's and Walmart don't care either way. You'll keep paying for their workforce and cheer lead those who fight to keep minimum wage from going up. Typical cross purposes of your ideology. Fun to watch you vote against your own self interest.

Obamacare is a ripoff. In my case the incentive is to go uninsured! When employers offer to deduct $18,000+ from your paycheck and you say "no, thank you", you are disqualified from buying the SAME POLICY 40% cheaper on the exchange. Since the $18,000+ exceeds 8% of my income, I get an exemption from the penalty. The old system is MUCH better.

What is breaking the country is spending that has grown too fast and revenues that have been far below what they have been historically to GDP. What will break our budget in the out years is that entitlements, or whatever you want to call them, have been promised in far greater scale than will be received in revenues.

Wrong, Medicaid is part of it, but the rest of what drives cons crazy is small potatoes. We need to reform SS/Medicare/Medicaid. Up the Waste/Fraud/Abuse security on all.

Trigg. What the poor liberal, democrats always use as more reasons to avoid actually talking, or discussing the other BIG TICKET items...they need to keep going to support their endless dependency on Big Government...like Obamacare.
They don't care about what happens to the country, or their neighbors as long as IT DOESN'T AFFECT THEM in their pocket, bank account, or expected delivery in the mail each month.

What part of the RAMPANT abuse of food stamps, WIC, housing supplements, free lunches and college are small potatoes. There is a HUGE problem with the abuse in these programs.

Only recently have they started rechecking income in Indiana. Up until 2 yrs ago they checked income for a child in 8th grade, if they qualified for free college at that time, they never checked again.

This is not small potatoes.

Medicare and SS are paid for by the beneficiaries, a percentage is given to people who are mentally handicapped.

Personally I am all for reforming SS, but the dems will have none of that. STOP taking it out of my paycheck and I will invest it as I see fit.
