Trigg I wrestled back in the day and think it is a great sport, now my youngest boys ( 11 and 12 ) are getting into it, my youngest Wyatt also in 6th grade wrestled for the school this year and did great ( I would say he won about 85% of his matches and all by pinning his opponent ) The coaches did wonders with these kids, wrestling requires a lot of self discipline and a lot of using ones head and 95% of the kids on the team matured so much by the end of the season.
The only issue I have with the program down here is the boys are forced to wrestle the girls, and this may not be to bad in 6th grade but it is the middle school so the kids are quite developed by the 8th grade, as I watched some of the matches of the older kids ( boys verse girls) it looked more like soft core porn than a wrestling match, and after the boy toyed with the young ladies ( and didn't pin them in the first 10 seconds, simply so he could extend his sexual fantasy) they would walk off the Mat and in some cases actually fist bump and laugh with there friends.
Never look down on someone unless you are helping them up
