Default Yahoo acting weird for me

Maybe someone else can check and see if I'm going nuts?

I do a Yahoo search, then click on a site to visit. Normally, when I go back to Yahoo later, and do the same search, the site is listed as visited (it turns from blue to purple in my browser Firefox 27.0.1). Now, when I go back and do the same search, the site remains blue, as if I never visited. This is the same for any page I visit. I opened Internet Explorer and the same problem appears.

Yes, I am logged in. I have tried deleting cookies & temp files, no luck. And considering it happens to me in multiple browsers, I don't think it's a browser issue. I'm hoping someone can confirm/deny!!

Isn't that a function of your history and not the search engine?

Yes, but it still can be the way that Yahoo is transferring information, and I still think that's the case. It happens in FF, IE and Chrome. It works on every other search engine and website I use, only happens on Yahoo. Suppose I do a search, I can then right click on any link and go to it in a new window or tab. While it's still open, I go back to the Yahoo results and it's now marked as read. I then hit F5 to refresh the page, no longer marked as read.

    This is driving me nuts!

I did a search on Yahoo, clicked the link. Redid the search on Yahoo, it didn't look "read." Redid the search on Google, it looked "read."

So you're having the same problem!! Try what I did, right click on a link and open in new tab. Go back to Yahoo - is it marked as read? Now hit F5. Does it change it back to unread?

I'm going to stab you if you have the same problem, meaning it's on Yahoo's end... I've been literally pulling my hair out, cleaning everything on my machine, several reboots, questions here, on Yahoo and on Facebook. I hate you.

It seems to be doing the same thing, though I didn't say I had a problem. I'm going to take a stab here and suggest that there is some minor Yahoo driven change in the web address that changes if you rerun the search. I think all the gobbledygook after the "msu.edu" changes enough that it appears to be a different site.
