    Default Question for Parents

    A hypothetical here - it's not a trick question...

You and your spuose and kids are on a Cruise ship - one of your kids falls over-board...

    Do you:

    A. Jump in after them knowing that there's a great chance you'll both die?
    B. Let the ship's crew save them knowing that this way - at least - your other kids will still have both parents?

Is my husband there? Or is it just me? I, being the woman, would expect my husband to jump in, while I stayed with the other kids. If I was alone... I don't know. I would probably run back & forth between the deck rails and my other kids, unable to decide what to do.

    C. Kids shouldn't be on a Cruise!

Seriously, there are so many variables this is an imposable question to answer.

    I'd jump.

Because if the crew can later dive in for my kid, they can dive in for me. At least I could sleep at night knowing I didn't just stand by and watch.

If you can eliminate that fear—not through arrogance or just wishing difficulties away, but through hard work and preparation—you will put yourself in an incredibly powerful position to take on the challenges you face" - Pete Carroll.

What if it was a 200 foot jump..you may die when you hit the water..height, just one variable.

    Situation dictates.

I would jump in after them if it weren't my kid.
When I die I'm sure to go to heaven, cause I spent my time in hell.

You get more with a kind word and a two by four, than you do with just a kind word.

That would take a little more consideration on my part. That is where I would say...well its 200 feet..could kill me. If it was my kid..wouldnt think twice though. Hey at least Im honest.

I think I would have to jump. Futile or not, who could watch their child drown and just stand there?
