When Thirsty Earth Begged Its Brother Sky

When Thirsty Earth Begged Its Brother Sky

When thirsty Earth cries, for much needed rain
Sky beams ever brighter, said not again
Why cry thus to me, ask your mortal men,
they steal your bounty and live in dark sin?

Earth heard and let out more desperate moans
Sky rumbled back, no rain in clear tones.
Earth begged oceans and forests to plead
please ask brother Sky to fill our great need.

Again Sky answered with angrier sounds
told Earth, stop men from going out of bounds
Earth moaned louder and then pleaded some more
asking Sky, some rain please, this I implore.

Later Earth and brother Sky came to terms
rains came so heavy it woke sleeping worms!
