Far Away Glow, Life's Gems In Celestial Fires

Divine throne, were His Love and Truth never expires
Where rests understanding well beyond mortal grasp
In our brief journeys walked upon earthly realm
Too often we seek dark, sad and wasteful desires.

Far away glow, Life's gems in celestial fires

Beneath us rests Hades first huge, welcoming gate
With billion easy maps telling just how to reach
When we think of high heaven, streets of solid gold
We forget, fallen sheep are at mercy of Fate.

Far away glow, Life's gems in celestial fires

Yet in this Universe burns true soul saving Light
Eternal embers of bright celestial fires
He that molded man from created earthen clay
Would not have done so unless it all would end right.

Far away glow, Life's gems in celestial fires

Be of good cheer, there are doors to such paradise
Keys that require such a sincere and simple plea
Bread and water in Truth, He sent from far above
Already paid, with blood of his Son's sacrifice.

Far away glow, Life's gems in celestial fires

Could only muster enough writing energy to edit an old poem today.
Hope tomorrow to reach a happier place and maybe write something new..

Are We Mortal Men Or Blinded Field Mice?

Dare I forgive, this sadder light of day
Stumble within its long, dark corridors.
Crawl forth, this body made of earthen clay
Begging for sweet relief and nothing more?

Are we mortal men or blinded field mice?
Living, only enough wares to suffice?

Nay! One must rise up and dare to Fate fight
Sew Life's cuts with courage and stronger thread.
Walk not in servitude, dark of dark night
Waiting only dreaded day we are dead!

Are we mortal men or blinded field mice?
Living, only enough wares to suffice?

Life's greatest blessing is also our foe
For it rests within Time's dark clutching hands.
We were made with souls, so that we may know
We are imprisoned on these earthly lands!

Are we mortal men or blinded field mice?
Living, only enough wares to suffice?

With that key left, for each to seek and find
One may enter paradise's golden streets.
Deep in our hearts, love that can save each mind
Awaits beyond our sad earthly defeats!

Are we mortal men or blinded field mice?
Living, only enough wares to suffice?

Slowing light came back to shine, into a blinded lost soul
all that great loss was not all mine, yet quite sincerely I feel,
I just may have felt its greatest toll.
I woke up at 2 am this morn, could not sleep. This poem started and demanded that I get up to finish it.
My muse yet slept(as she is often even lazier than I), so instead of the usual forty-five minutes it would take me and her to write a poem of this length,
it took me writing alone, a bit over three hours!
What a relief to finish this finally(!), and this poem has been posted without any edits.
Although edits may yet come after I reread it again tomorrow, if I find typo's, etc.. -Tyr

Found this old poem today. Written when I was young and thought the world could change if enough humans just saw the light.
I then did not know, that the Light must be sought and embraced if any MEANINGFUL AND LASTING CHANGES OCCURS AT ALL.-Tyr

Shall Mankind Ever Stop Repeating Insane Actions?

Thousand years distance, Hope's Truest of Truths cheered,
in its abundance within hearts seeking only peace
Yet there also, darkest forces played loose at night
bestowing grave doubt and aches upon mankind
Amidst this chaos, peace became a lost ghost
war raced in to fill that sad and empty space
When apathy won, death became a ghastly meadow
as dancing dark demons paraded forth and jeered,

Thousand years to come, shall Hope find a repeat
where black shadows invade to destroy more lives
Never say never, for evil sails upon blackest of seas
death lurks under malignant waters set to destroy
Shall we again in arrogance welcome such Dark
raging mad in ravenous flesh destroying appetites
Or will some saving angel travel here to then appear
and our embraced insanity, with true light defeat!

Defying Lightning Bolts From Ancient Skies

Walking in the past, down memory lane
Seeking courage there, prove I am still sane
Sharp sword of truth cutting through many lies
Defying lightning bolts from ancient skies!

On that journey, to find peace, in new hope
Perhaps even falling down a rocky slope
Aware that my mind has deceived my heart
Seeking truth not deceptions, tis a new start.

Once reaching those imagined shining fields
I pluck forbidden fruits, to see what truth yields
Sword raised high, to cut in so much deeper
Found were black lies, gems of the grim reaper!

Walking in the past, down memory lane
Seeking courage there, prove I am still sane
Sharp sword of truth cutting through many lies
Defying lightning bolts from ancient skies!

Why Would Poe's Lonely Ghost Dare To Haunt Me

Why Would Poe's Lonely Ghost Dare To Haunt Me

Where I see ghosts rising from wayward hills
Brilliant streaks in lone solitary arcs
Darkest nights, such sights sends shivering chills
One knows such flashes are not imagined sparks

I see shadows dancing in moonlit clouds
Somber music bellows out their hatred
Some show hideous faces from behind shrouds
Sending down deep repugnant smells so putrid

Shall I just decide to call it bad dreams
Or Fate's wicked curse nightly sent my way
Edgar Allen Poe's words meld into my screams
Born of wicked-black deeds of my darkest days

Why would Poe's lonely ghost dare to haunt me
This poet's feeble words can not set him free

    Never mind!
He is just a child yet. At these ages each of us was sure that we knew and could do everything better than anybody else. However the time passed and the Life proved how wrong we had been.
Unfortunately some fail to get rid of such an assurance till old ages.
Indifferent alike to praise or blame
Give heed, O Muse, but to the voice Divine
Fearing not injury, nor seeking fame,
    Nor casting pearls to swine.

Nevermind is right. But you need to figure out who the child is. Your lack of command of literature is abysmal. Try reading a book. You might learn something.

When I was young I was strong and owned the world

Those days are over now My daughter makes fun of me

Makes me so sick at times I want to hurl.

I'm still here. I've seen and heard everything I have seen and heard. The Bird is the Word. Learn to write. And if you try and wreck Tyr's thread you're going to make a new enemy.

Once Lived Life As Both Fox And Chasing Hound

Once lived life as both fox and chasing hound
each one thinking, they were true, honor bound.
As the fox, took great pride in being shrewd
failed often to see my actions were crude.

When fleeing forth in life at lightning pace
taking too much as I ran, a disgrace.
Never worried about deep and high costs
figured each cold Winter brought killing frosts.

When chasing old fox, my mind went astray
swearing to catch and eat him every day.
With each new dawn, my hunger more intense
I failed to see myself being so dense.

One sad dawn, I caught that shifty ole fox
his words showed me my big, dark prison box.
Blessed reprieve for him, I did not eat
His wisest move and both our greatest feat.

Once lived life as both fox and chasing hound
each one thinking, they were true, honor bound.
As the fox, took great pride in being shrewd
failed often to see my actions were crude.

Note- Inspired by Tim Smith's free verse poem--titled the -- The Fox And The Hound.
I do not do free verse very well, methinks, so I went with rhyme and in ten syllable verses.
Thank you my friend Tim Smith, for the great inspiration.. your free verse poem and its creativity
and depth inspired this effort by me , written in a much different poetry form.
I hope this poem written this morn, may honor your poem well, as an inspired tribute to it.

As We Grow Old And We So Slowly Fade

As we grow old and we so slowly fade
we should ponder, how we are wondrous made.
Our brains are far more complex than we know
we are given hearts and not just for show.

Nature too, conspires to bring us along
with bees and birds gifting honey and song.
    Consider blessings of Nature's flowers
or its snow laden high mountain towers.

Rejoice in treasures of vast blue skies
sweetness in our dear mothers apple pies.
Such rare gift as our yellow moon's soft rays
soothing memories of our happy days.

As we grow old and we so slowly fade
we should ponder, how we are wondrous made.
Our brains, are far more complex than we know
we are given hearts and not just for show.

NOTE: Having now dared to live past 60, I find time to contemplate life, its mysterious, relationship to Nature and vagaries of Fate..
Especially Fate--that seems oft to be dark and vindictive in its renderings!
Why so oft does the very old get the greater gift of understanding that is so necessary when one is young?
Certainly so necessary if one is to avoid the many pitfalls of youth.
Conclusion is-- those pitfalls are not meant to be avoided.
As they serve to make the man/woman, be it for better or worse......

A RARE FREE VERSE POEM ..-TYR

    Well, What Of It

    What of it?
That I, in my time, break open logs and eat that ripe rich decay
Relish ancient stored remains as if bacon and eggs. As if hot coffee on a bitter cold morn.
As if, manna from Heaven fell at my old, tired feet.
Yes, you have me dead to right and haughty too! A stubborn soldier seeking, looking and cherishing times past. Holding ancient dreams!
Times that are not changing if I can help it. Should I cry, shout, stomp feet or just cringe at some of this new age folly?
Perhaps seek ways to make a quick exit and give over to the rotting mass?
Sell my heart and soul for a slice of bread and a devious pat on the head?
Nay, nay I say.. Such befits no man-- no man!
Such is the embracing of shallow dreams, fools gold and legs that can not walk!
    Walk, walk says I.
Walk and be bold to speak. Speak to live on and be heard.
    What of it?
I had my say, my anger poured out and I felt all the more human for daring so.
Feeling human, feeling alive and feeling that this world has less power over me that before.
And, and, and -Yes , what of it?

Walking, Soft Dirt Road On This Moonlit Night

Walking, soft dirt road on this moonlit night
welcoming shadows flying forth to meet
This cool breeze flowing, all seems just so right
fireflies dancing about make it so sweet

Wrapped in love's deepest romantic embrace
earth and life gifts joys of blessings and grace

Midnight sun, beams yellow streams on this soul
with light bounced in soft colored hues
Left behind, worries of wealth, lofty goals
treading barefoot free of cumbersome shoes

Wrapped in love's deepest romantic embrace
earth and life gifts joys of blessings and grace

Majestic oak, turn back spot up ahead
oft sad to not further explore new lanes
Sleep bellows out, so soon time for soft bed
seek shelter from the coming heavy rains

Wrapped in love's deepest romantic embrace
earth and life gifts joys of blessings and grace

    Thy Silent Thoughts

So beautiful are thy silent thoughts
I would watch thine eyes all day.
There is wonder in them, as the sun's first flash
    Through tumult of ocean spray;
In them the shining calm of upland pools
    Mirrors the glory round,
And their shadows are the shadows of sweet flowers
    Upon the summer ground.
So beautiful are thy silent thoughts
    I would watch thine eyes all day;
More beauteous in their silence than the stars,
Than the silent stars, are they.

    Memories Of The Shadowy Ford

I will seek the silent ways.
    Unknown in sunnier days,
I will linger with the flowers
    Not greeted in lost hours.
    I will go quietly
    That I may be
    Companion of peaceful things,-
    The brook that sings
    Its murmuring song
    The woodland shade along,
    Th moorland wide
    At purple eventide,
The clouds that in the morning sun
Vanish in beauty and are one
    With pure and unutterable love
And those dear soft spirits that move
    Ever around us, even when
We lose the way of trusted men.
    I would forget that I
    May draw nigh
    The deeper memories.

    I will arise
And leave you, and so find
The deathlessness I was too blind
    To see among your swift -run days;
    My ways
Shall be among the immortal flowers
    Born of your darkest hours.
