In Their Veils Of Soft Morning Blue

    Once more they cometh
In their veils of soft morning blue
    Singeth dear, and are gone.
Happy are they who see the glint
Of their swift and silvery feet.

    Whence came those winsome
    Danaides of my dream
    With sweet laughter laden,-
In a bright land a cheerful band
    Dancing by a mossy stream?

When All Hope And Relief Seems Gone
    (Loss Of Hope)

Today my sad spirit rides long dark rails
as massive storms lash and churn great blue seas
Lost in deepest of blues, Hope's sweet hand fails
as I crash on broken and jagged trees.

Far beneath a once great and mighty perch
as Achille's fate approaches my life
I recall divine words from father's church
"seek thee, love in our dear Lord, during strife"!

I crawl in forests dark, wickedly deep
smell of evil, death and destruction burns
I cry for safety and warm place to sleep
relief from broken heart's many returns.

Where hides Light's most beautiful saving rays
Dusk comes, no help for man that falls and prays!

Heaven Sending Clear Signs Of Hope's Return
    (Sweet Hope Returns)

Solitary ray of light breaks grey dawns pain
flowing smoothly with emerging cool breeze
Am I dreaming or truly going insane
Is this apparition just another tease?

Confidence grows as majestic sun breaks through
heaven sending clear signs of Hope's return
That precious moment dear, I thought only of you
and just how once fiercely our great love did burn!

Songbirds soon began chirping softest tunes
life danced gaily through broad swaying trees
Then I pictured you dancing under glowing moons
blessed answer to sincere, desperate pleas

Time flew, I saw Hope had freed my aching heart
Night came, you came, ending our sad months apart!

How Can Deep Folly, Abject Blindness Banish Hope
(How Easily We Are Deceived, Hope Lost)

I recall darkness, creeping edges of power
ease of entry in that first forlorn hour.
No worries, as it entered with its soothing host
aye, but with one true goal, my soul to roast.

Thinking back, my guard I had foolishly let down
enters blackest stain, upon discarded gown.
This heart had abandon once intelligent mind
all in the name of glory, love to find!

So clear now, that wondrous Light I gladly blew out
with glee and joy this lost soul gave a shout.
How can deep folly, abject blindness banish Hope?
I willingly, was hung by my own rope.

Aye, deceptive powers seek out Hope to destroy.
Torture man and play with him as with a new toy.

Shall I Bring On Silver Plate, Red-Rose Resting Sweet

Shall I bring on silver plate, red-rose resting sweet
or a longing and sincere deep kiss next we meet?
Can we walk alone in meadows pretty and fair,
holding welcomed hands and cool winds blowing your hair?

Should we dare in offering up hearts clear and true
or wait until new morning brings sweetest love's dew?
Can we not, obey romance and destiny's gifts
or love's bright music, that dances soft and uplifts?

How can romantic hearts not join in deepest bliss?
Why not in our lives, we live to forever kiss?
Will we grow old together and hold firm our love?
Can we reject Fate, bright stars shining from above?

Will you return my vow of Love and greatest Hope?
Embrace passion's truth, agreeing now to elope?

Dreamers Seek Such Beauty As This

Truest love, great dreamer's finest dream
    raindrops splattering down,
hope and truth wading in cool streams
    gold luster, passion's crown.
Soft whistling wind on winter night
    snow, Nature's sprinkled gown,
white beauty, such a splendid sight
    bobsleds are racing down.

Sweet and dear this holiday scene
    life, people living well,
snow color precedes Spring's bright green
    Nature's soft chiming bell.
Dreamers seek such beauty as this
    paddles in waters deep,
gliding in clouds of purest bliss
    kisses in slumbered sleep.

Flowers In Your Hair, Gold Dust On Your Trailing Gown
( Robert Lindley and Nicola Byrne )

Flowers in your hair, gold dust on your trailing gown
You my true sky angel, had floated right on down.
Golden sandals on your feet, toenails glowing white
All eternity shan’t see a prettier sight.
Your soft and gentle voice, a million ways of sweet
Your touch is my hope and your kiss, love-food to eat.
Each moment a true blessing, you my darling gave
Each dance your gift, healing treasures, my heart to save.
Love of my life, sing softest hymns to this lost soul
For before you came, sorrows took a heavy toll.
Know darling, this heart and spirit you have thus healed,
Should fate deny us, with love, truth has been revealed.

Now every balmy breeze that blows against my skin,
Resonant of your kisses, brings a joyous grin.
In the sun’s warm splendour, a halo I doth see
Shine upon the waters, where love’s eyes swim to me.
And every now and then, blessed with rains from above,
I feel your tender touch, the glory of your love.
Your scent, like fragrant blossoms, straight from heaven’s lawn
Exhilarates the senses, waking me each dawn.
Firm witness is the world, to thy healing powers
and graceful presence, bringing halcyon hours.
All that I envision, to turn around a frown:
Flowers in your hair, gold dust on your trailing gown.

Red Rose Longings Blown In Cool Morning Breeze

With sad heart I gazed upon a red rose
Mockingbird sings clearly, morning breeze blows.
Sun had deeply embraced bright blue skies
Beautiful images gave such lovely highs!

There I sat on our long wooden front porch
Fighting to re-light memory's great torch.
For what else could add to this wondrous scene
I in silence, had loved her since a teen!

Alas! Sorrow, since such was not returned
Yet this aching heart still so hotly burned.
Nothing left but thoughts of all I would miss
Her gentle touch, her delicious kiss!

Sat in a trance thinking only of her
Time tries to make such memories a blur!
I fight so hard to keep lost love alive
For this my weeping soul will always strive!

With sad heart I gazed upon a red rose
Mockingbird sings clearly, morning breeze blows.
Sun had embraced deeply bright blue skies
Beautiful images gave such lovely highs!

I rose early this morn determined to write each and every morn. To return to my former self and walk another brighter path..
I managed to write this from a memory I once held so dear. When I, as a young teen, failed to speak to her because of my great fear!
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

When Scorched Earth Feels Warm To Thy Naked Feet

Tread dark paths, there no green pastures await
Woe to thee! For death and sorrow will come
Return to Light, tempt not thy future Fate
If not, agony cries, "come get thee some"!

When scorched earth feels warm to thy naked feet
Thou art lost! Race away from darkness then
For its hiding beast cries for feasts to eat
With epic hatred for souls of all men!

Savor these words, embrace Light lest night falls
Cleanse thine heart! Time is fast flowing away
Hope and Faith rest sound in all pleading calls
For mercy comes, to all that kneel to pray!

When on thy dark path ray of Light doth shine
follow its glow, saving grace will be thine!

Wading In Coolest Streams Of Subconscious Delights

Often I wish my life had been a lost feather,
blowing up high within a sea swept moaning gale.
Lost but quite content in such furious weather
spirit justly weighted upon a cosmic scale.
Often this young heart seeks even greater release
wading in coolest streams of subconscious delights.
Seeking love and joy greater than a golden fleece
rapture, tender arms of my lover winter nights.

After my reading several poems on the magnificent beauty and Nature scenes Autumn gifts, to find one to present here in my Poem of the Day thread, I decided to write one myself this very day.
This took much longer than I had anticipated and may need future edits but I will present it as is for now.
    I hope you may enjoy..--Tyr

Spirits Leap To Touch Autumn's Splendor

When small fires and hot soups are needed,
We think to leave behind great summer greens
Looking back at crops long ago weeded
Recalling future promise of our teens,
    Good-byes, waved to grains heavy and golden;
We give hellos to coming Autumn's hues
Memories stored from ancient years olden,
Admiration for past skies deep blues.

    When keen hearts see beautiful leaves shedding;
Thoughts of winter's cold about to arrive
With wise caution, we add extra bedding,
For comfort and warmth needed to survive,
    And vivacious colors found alluring,
We gladly view this bright colorful season,
As if beauty we be briefly touring
And love of life now has deeper reason.

In midst splashing colors and gems falling
Our souls may celebrate pages soon turning,
In sad hearts vacate places recalling,
    With desires strong, deep and fiercely burning;
We see such bright color and falling gems
Spirits leap to touch Autumn's splendor
With tender voice, we sing cheerful new hymns
    Thanking God with words soft, true and tender;

Within scenes and times now quite rewarding,
Paintings of joy and dear hope abounding,
We light morning fires with hopes regarding,
Daily lives giving clear shouts resounding,
    Happiness in small pleasures growing
Foods prepared delicious for the season
Resting calm in so faithfully knowing
We may note Autumn's gifts for good reason.

Alas! Truth Points To Man's Deep Hate

This dangerous world's love for war
with its evil and far flung stones
has done far too much to atone.
Fear now rules, man has gone too far!

Peace and paradise now mere dreams
with airy soiled beds there unkept
    lives herded into dying streams.
Some seeing, with sad tears have wept!

Who shall arise to this world save
for such looming and massive clouds
    predict too many early graves.
    Earth filled with radiation shrouds!

Alas! Truth points to man's deep hate
future days wrapped in hell's hot breath
we repent, else find that dark fate
Will our legacy be such death!

This dangerous world's love for war
with its evil and far flung stones
has done far too much to atone.
Fear now rules, man has gone too far!

Tip Your Hat, Give Pretty Gals Wink And Nod

Summon up courage to yet again plod
When worldly sorrow has cut in bone deep
Tip your hat, give pretty gals wink and nod
Fear not dawn's coming when you dare to sleep

Hold your course, tho' thunder bellows and roars
Walk with brave heart and a mighty big stick
Look forward to fortune's wide open doors
And step carefully, this world is full of tricks

Eat your meals with gratitude and kind heart
For blessings arrive when goodness prevails
Settle for dear peace and its calm course chart
Seek honor, see the darkness it repels

With truth and courage as your steady shields
Find life's bounty and dearest joy it yields

Found this old poem today, in the back of an old notebook I was about to toss in the garbage and I have now done a massive edit on it.
It had no date on it and I have no idea how long ago I wrote it. From the original before editing today, I think maybe I wrote it about 25/30 years ago.
Editing today, I changed it a great deal, imparting a bit of wisdom gained since my wild youth.-Tyr

Finally Found Was, Wisdom Says No Man Is Invincible

In youth he walked through this world with its depravity
    felt invincible, able to defy its gravity;
a Hercules, in body, bold spirit and restless mind,
safe in assurance that he was truly one of a kind.

Constantly fighting, against world's malevolent decrees
    knowing in his heart no warrior could bring him to his knees;
yet future defeat waited its time to fell his boldness,
massive blows struck, cursing with its evil and dark coldness.

Lo! Great sadness arrived fateful day he became aware
    Time and Fate were his enemies never do they play fair;
awareness came, humility and then desperation
for nothing, nothing defeats truth's greatest revelation.

In old age with vigor, strength and mass power on the wane
    finally, his sad heart found what had always been so plain;
walking in his arrogance and boldest of false found pride,
always enters Fated path where lies find no place to hide.

    A Dream Within A Dream

    Behold!
Fix thine eyes upon Earth's great treasures.
Morning calls of birds looking for a mate-
Winds blowing over mountains, across plains to blue seas
Jungles sweltering in heat and dangers
Wilderness teeming with ancient dreams of ghosts of time....
The heavens gazing down at all.

    Dawns,
    Waking shadows soon to be burnt by the sun;
And just beyond that lucid moment,
This world cries to be explored and walked about
Mysteries, eternal in their depth, colors and glories -
shimmering visions born of cosmic dust and time,
Can you hear that first call of youth?
Echoes returning from never ending void
And Nature proclaiming-- man thou art mine!
    THOU ART MINE TOO!

    Seas,
Churning , foaming and spitting forth life
Gardens in forests born of primeval gods-
Stones singing hymns in their silence,
Meadows spreading across broad plains into realms anew
Can you see, Nature and its magnificence?
Herds, by the thousands, rampaging into future time
Forests sheltering billions of birds insects and bright trees
Rains plunging down to soak virgin soils,
And eternal cycles renewed within Nature's overarching plan.

    Nights,
Ghosts of time, returning to laugh, dance and watch!
Harbors welcoming incoming ships and cargo
Cities crying to be filled with bustling throngs!
Homes with welcoming fires fighting Winter's wrath
Snows that paint earth, land and sky....
Rivers and streams on winding never ending quests
Lakes glimmering under moon and star lights
Creatures moving about water and back to solid land
And mankind-- deep beneath earth, scavenging for more treasure!
And mankind, planted beneath earth in decay.....

    The Dead Man

Through life, fleet footed and savagely silent
with little mercy, most often he was violent
In unguarded moments compassion won out
bursting forth, like water from a spout
Those yester-years are now lost in faded dreams
so like late afternoon's fading final beams
Mere wisps of shine, vanquished before dark of night
oft sad, unlike deep glory of dawn's first light.

Youth found he, riding alone on a blind horse
with no worries, letting Fate chose the course
In that folly, he still found nuggets of gold
or were they false memories of he now too old
Still in his long life, he had family that truly cared
broken hearts he had once or twice repaired
Yet Time judged harshly and rushed him to his sad end
left behind, his great wealth he could never spend.

So few, so very few were saddened by his demise
recalling how he was selfish and not very wise
For in his vanity he thought to forever live on
and one day like a puff of smoke he was gone
A few noted his greed had his happiness cost
for without compassion and love, joy is forever lost
Now these sad words written on his tombstone
if, if only others mercy he had just shown.

with little mercy, most often he was violent
In unguarded moments compassion won out

Low echoes, pushing -down, down and down.
Cries unheard as darkness engulfs a pitiful and lost soul )

I needed a break from all the recent insanity in this world, so I sat down to write.. First poem came out dark as hell and I may post it here someday--but not now.
I went to the kitchen got me an ice-cold Dr Pepper and sat there thinking about my life and my many past relationships with women--especially in my young ,ignorant and wild days of youth.
Which brought me mentally to this one beautiful angel that I lost due to me being me!
At that moment the first verse came to me like a thunderbolt from out of the blue. After that the rest just flowed, even the repetition , which I decided to leave in as is and not edit out a verse or even a single word of this piece.
Dedicated to her memory, a beautiful lady that truly deserved far better than me...
She moved away, I lost all contact and knowledge of her, after that and I hope she found that better man and lived in true happiness....-Tyr

Oft I Wonder Can This Fairy-Tale Truly Be True

In my heart of hearts your red rose yet bleeds
longings in delicate touch, with urgent needs
How can I refuse your dance in our night dreams
goddess of such grace and beauty supreme
Your soothing voice waking moon's brighter glow
ignites desire's fires, lets our passions flow
My enchantress, my angel of sweet release
deliverer of love's gold and heartfelt peace
Giver of hope, along with dawn's majestic rays
bringing in paradise wherein our love plays.

With haste I beg for each night's early fall
as you descend into our palace waiting halls
Oft I wonder can this fairy-tale truly be true
am I alive, living and loving each night with you?

Oft I wonder can this fairy-tale truly be true
am I alive, living and loving each night with you?
In my heart of hearts your red rose yet bleeds
longings in delicate touch, with urgent needs
How can I refuse your dance in our night dreams
goddess of such grace and beauty supreme?

My angel, tell me why you first went away
broke my heart turned this old world darker grey
Oft I wonder can this fairy-tale truly be true
am I alive, living and loving each night with you?

Am I alive, living and loving each night with you?
Am I alive, living and loving each night with you?
