    Wish I, That Time Within Its Flow

    Wish I, that Time within its flow,
    had sent forth my birth long ago.
    In its union with Man and Fate,
    had not sprouted this soul too late.
    For now heart cries in spurts and moans,
    sorrows found deep in aching bones!

    In my woeful and darkened days,
    over and deep, misery plays.
    Red sun sets but I see no shine,
    dark rests seas filled with bitter brine.
    Shallow are the night's streaming dreams,
    far too pale wandering moonbeams!

    When I cry thus, "Woe this sad life"
    Fate smiles and stabs deeper its knife.
    A triple twist and mind explodes
    pity I chose these darkened roads.
    As pain then joins with sorrow's grief,
    despair's pits come beyond belief!

    Ancient history would have found,
    this soul at rest and never bound.
    For my curse, life is now too fast
    chained to ship sailing at full mast.
    Seas stormy and waves crashing high,
    thus Heaven hears not my sad cries!

    Wish I, that Time within its flow,
    had sent forth my birth long ago.
    In its union with Man and Fate,
    had not sprouted this soul too late.
    For now heart cries in spurts and moans,
    sorrows found deep in aching bones!

    The Age Of Summer Love Was Kismet Kissed
    (a Sonnet duet)

    Our summer love began in Gemini
    with sultry eves of wooing escapades,
    and as the moon did swoon as it drew nigh
    my lust you stirred with strumming serenades.

    Romance as rich as black queen tulip skies
    adorned with precious gems of bijou light,
    before they’d lose their lustre to sunrise
    you’d shower me with diamonds of the night.

    Impassioned kisses filled my sails with love,
    a rhumba full of rapture neath the stars
    with rhythmic teasing, undulations of
    unbridled flame of Venus and my Mars.

    The time of Libra brings a cool to days ~
    still, autumn love sets aging leaves ablaze.

    ~~~
    Yes my love, our joining was truly Fate
    for immediately we both just knew,
    hope had bellowed it is never to late
    my destiny was love and life with you!
    Love, ours glistening rubies and pearls
    hot-love feasts served upon long golden trays,
    memories, night love bathes in heated swirls
    greatest treasure my soul embraces today!
    In paradise my heart sought your soft touch
    sweet embrace and curves of your luscious lips,
    non-stop, crescendo was almost too much
    on this earth, we took such heavenly trips!
    Our fated romance proves that true love stays~
    through it all, thick and thin, sorrowful grays
    Susan Ashley and Robert Lindley
    Susan's Note-
    On May 17,2018, after I posted my Sonnet 'The Age of Summer Love', I received a lovely soup mail from my esteemed and kindhearted friend, Robert Lindley saying; 'Your poem so inspired me today!' Robert had composed a beautiful Sonnet in which each of his stanzas and closing couplet was in response to each of mine. His poem was yet to be titled so he bestowed upon me this awesome honor of naming his poem, which was then titled; 'Our Ageless Love Was Kismet Kissed', posted on May 19, 2018. As you can imagine, I was moved and elated by his message and generous gesture. I then suggested to Robert that I thought it would be wonderful to combine both poems into a 'Sonnet duet' format and repost our poems together under a combined title. To my great delight and appreciation, Robert agreed. Thank you, my dear friend, Robert. I'm both honored and humbled by your talent and kindness. It is truly a blessing to share a friendship with you.
    Here, I present our special tribute...
    A tribute to inspiration and friendship!
    My Note-
    I read Susan's wonderful creation and immediately sat down to write this sonnet in reply. I then sent it to her and told her how much her fine sonnet had inspired me and this creation was the result of that inspiration.
    Together, we discussed combining the two sonnets, as in the new poem, now re-titled and given a new life.
    A truly sincere act, was met by yet another - that of my friend suggesting that perhaps we present these two sonnets together, showing the second sonnet as the reply that it is..
    We worked out the details and this is the resulting collaboration.
    Hope you may enjoy this and see that friendship/fellowship in poetry is far, far better than competition/envy.
    Here, presented is our special tribute...
    A tribute to inspiration and friendship!
    Providence On Behalf Of Love
    I that have seen such beauty
    fallen beneath its gleam
    rejected my life’s duty
    to wade thus in its stream
    Saturating me with love
    bathed in moon’s reflection
    naught more for me to dream of
    drown me your affection
    With our true hearts united
    stare into love’s abyss
    night dreams felt unrequited
    are thus found with first kiss
    Passion’s torch does scorch the sun
    red molten flow in veins
    as we two become as one
    unbridled, fallen reins
    Sacrosanct are our love nights
    life’s sweet joys soar with you
    without your touch, nothing’s right
    next tryst now overdue
    Stoke my love and lustful sate
    lure me your siren song
    wooing whirlwind perfect fate
    where pulse and pleasures throng
    We shall meet under moonlight
    join true hearts in one fire
    kiss in love’s sweet depths all night
    meld into deep desire
    We’ll sail ‘cross life’s open seas
    explore each others’ shores
    casting caution to the breeze
    re-writing romance lores
    Love’s paradise we’ll not miss
    destiny sends us there
    living life with blushing bliss
    heaven for us to share
    Rapture’s mine, your eyes starshine
    your light does kiss my soul
    intervention our’s Divine
    in ecstasy extol
    *Providence* - a manifestation of divine care or direction -
    My Poet’s Note: When my talented friend Robert, found and presented to me his lovely poem fragment, from long ago (the first stanza), and asked if I would be interested in writing a collaborative poem with him, I said ‘Yes’! In the moment of reading his tender words, I was inspired.. and honored and humbled, by his generous and kindhearted offer to finish this poem with him through our creative cooperation. It was my great pleasure and a tremendous poetic experience for me to create and write with Robert, a fine poet of such high caliber who just so happens to be my esteemed friend as well. Robert, you made my first collaboration a pure joy and our friendship and partnership in poetry is cherished.
    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

    Robert’s Poet’s Note: How our collaboration on this poem came to be. I had this short poem fragment from many decades ago. I saw some merit in it being completed. At first I sat down to write and finished the poem myself. Then I remembered the insight, the quality and beauty of Susan's previous collaboration with me - our sonnet duet and that sealed the deal. I decided to ask her if she would finish that old poem fragment as a collaboration with me. To my great and fortunate delight she agreed to do so.
    A true blessing it is for me to compose with such a kindhearted and talented poet
    as my dear friend most assuredly is...
    As it is always a pleasure to write and discuss poetry with my talented friend..

    When In Love's Immense Depths, You Are Truly Cherished

    Mystical web spun memories of our sweet nights,
    love began under stars and brightest of moonlights.
    Hold onto that image, its joyous dreaming dreams;
    fiery echoes, night trysts and pleasurable screams!
    Love's greatest truth rests in thy bosom and kind heart,
    destined to meet that night and our souls never part!

    Fate fulfilled as we were thrilled, luscious love’s first blush,
    time together, had forever, no need to rush.
    Aroused desires stirred passions’ afire to burn
    like pulsing embers in joined flames of wanton yearn,
    till what was left, spent afterglow like cooling coal
    our hot bed then our sanctuary soul to soul.

    From passion's soul to soul, came steaming heart to heart,
    delicious love made each night glowing as fine art.
    Waking wrapped in love-joined joy, within Cupid's shot,
    giving you my all and all I have ever got.
    Days spent in loving arms that held our love so true,
    knowing your soft heart lives in me and all I do.

    From that day, when angels’ wings whispered you away,
    tears I cry are sweet relief when my mind does stray.
    Bleeding heart still blooms for you vibrant on the vine,
    though seeking tendrils ache without you to entwine.
    Oh the wish to taste your kiss, nectar ‘pon my lips,
    your thrilling touch still lingers since your life’s eclipse.

    Yet Fate had its saddest call, that none can deny,
    ours was to live its love-feast and not reason why.
    Now so alone, precious memories to sustain,
    moments of mirth that alleviate the great pain,
    feed my desires for your tender nightly embrace,
    know, no power ever known, can our love erase.

    Upon dawn's breaking, wake knowing you were once here,
    another memory lessens days flow of tears.
    Future promise of being joined in nightly bliss
    and in that moment having all I now so miss;
    your heart the flower, I the honey seeking bee,
    our love entwined in paradise under love's tree.

    Come take me to your Heaven's home of pearly light,
    my sombre soul now needs you like the stars need night.
    I look to skies bittersweet shades of twilight blue
    and daydream of your denim eyes of darkest hue.
    For a time imagining I’m held in your gaze
    your magic’s purest charms still don’t fail to amaze.

    Please find my kiss I’ve blown to you upon the breeze,
    I send to you my love with prayers while on my knees.
    Praying to be with you rather sooner than late,
    memories move to close the circle of our fate.
    Gather my soul, lift me to you like a feather,
    with spun gossamer of sacred ties that tether.

    Your Love Redeemed My Faith In Hope

    Across the dance floor, your soft sashaying gown flew
    with its bright waving gleams of silver dust and blue;
    within that blessed gaze, lonesome heart jumped a beat
    seeing those golden slippers on your dainty feet,
    feeling love's welcomed arrows shot by Cupid's bow
    knowing that most treasured gift would forever grow!

    That cool June night we walked under golden moon's beams
    with your heart and soul gifting love that so redeems;
    this man that had lost heart and walked a blind path
    death long ago condemned this soul to darkest wrath,
    torn asunder joy in life that had been a gift
    chained this spirit upon a black-ship set adrift!

    Loss of my beloved I once lived blind despair
    wading through this evil world's black pits without care;
    her sweet love reminding me of Hope that was lost,
    found anew when your destined path with mine was crossed.
    I saw the world with open eyes but could not see
    Faith, till sight was laid upon fair beauty of thee...

    Your rosy warmth danced with grace thawing my cold heart,
    seduced by rousing rhythm never would we part.
    My heart began to waltz and pallid pulse did race
    as I saw charmed moonlight caress your angel’s face,
    I longed forevermore to tilt your chin and kiss
    your promising sunrise lips of heavenly bliss.

    That early summer’s eve I took a leap of faith
    willing to let go of my haunting lost love wraith,
    I found with you the heart to fall in love once more
    and glissade you in my arms ‘cross life’s ballroom floor.
    Alone in love’s spotlight of golden moon beam’s glow
    you have my whole attention for you stole the show.

    My poet's note: Yet again my dear friend I must thank you for your friendship, tremendous talent and collaborating with me to produce this wonderful poem.
    As both Love and Hope are two of the greatest of treasures that mankind has.
    This poem symbolizes the gifts that are given from both....
    As always it is a true joy to compose with you and let our combined poetic voices be read.. I hope this poem touches the heart and soul of many that may have lost hope in life, love and the blessings that the future holds for them.

    Susan Ashley poet’s note: Again, it was my tremendous honor and privilege to collaborate with with you, Robert. There is an abundance of beautiful poetry overflowing the banks of your heart and soul, my talented friend, and I wade in the lovely flow of your poetic words.. Within Shattered Heart, Remained A Fire Still Lit

    Beset by grievous sorrows, his past full of sins
    facing darkest evil truth, not mind's wishful spins,
    what else could a deeply broken man try to do
    when lamenting soul was tormented by loss of you?

    Life carried on, nights became his one true solace
    finding retreat, leaving behind this world's malice,
    with his memories of your smile and glowing face
    prayers cried out, that no other could your love replace.

    Within shattered heart, remained a fire still lit
    from its leaping flames, came echoes sent to transmit
    depths of soul's faith in someday again meeting you
    living life as one, as you both had planned to do.

    Always, reality's hope crashing, came to bear
    Epic loneliness, he is here, while you are there.

    This Age Old Tale Has Now Been Truly Told

    Farmer was old, beloved land eroded
    Story told, how his farmhouse exploded
    Very soon after he was newly wedded
    Inquiry his young wife dearly dreaded.

    His body freshly placed in new graveyard ground
    Back at his farm only emptiness found
    New wife and hired hand had fled so far away
    None there caring enough to make them pay.

    Sorrows in howling night winds there fiercely blew
    Moaning echoed words that so many knew
    Empty dynamite box hidden in old barn
    Revealing this sad story is no yarn.

    Train they took, had wrecked at rampage junction pass
    Both dead in crushed steel, jagged window glass
    Justice, they died young, while he so very old
    This age old tale has now been truly told.

    Great teacher, so very strict, gave me a C+ grade on it....
    She herself a great poet, I then barely 17 years old, thought the grade was just....
    Now I think maybe, it was justly due at least a B....

    When Long Shadows Leave Place Of Their Hidden Abode

    When long shadows leave place of their hidden abode
    of courageous hearts and great brave tales are told
    for within man's savagery lurks souls worth saving
    despite enormity of man's misbehaving!
    Where heart dearest of desires and world's darkness meets
    Are oft found fields of deep love or ashen defeats!

    When shadows are victorious and gaily leave
    epic the sorrows of those left to sadly grieve
    as neither lights from bright sun nor glittering stars
    can absolve evilest deeds or such bitter scars
    For deep within broken hearts, life shattering dreams
    Oft remains the dark hate that fails to souls redeem!

    Where shadows in dancing groups and glory retreat
    rests dark scavengers to bow at victories feet
    as clamorous dens echoes their ravenous feasts
    innocent children go to sleep fearing such beasts
    Can it be that all mankind has such beasts within

    Note- Woke today my muse raced into the house. With vicious voice, asked me this- are you a man or a mouse?
    I coolly replied, How dare you ask such foolish nonsense of me
    I the old poet ancient but still dreaming and master of my own house..
    Then she smiled and commanded, write today and make deep and dark
    add in horror and maybe buckets of blood and guts
    again show me the soul, that first sent poetry's true spark
    for too oft lately I've thought you off and a bit nuts
    I coolly replied, have a seat, watch this old poets pen ink now fly
    measure the results against the contempt you too oft keep
    notice my calm and the fact I did not ask you- the why
    as I birth these dark verses and do not dare bore you to sleep!

    Therein Abound Orchards Gifting Hot Love-Bound Feasts

    Exists a realm, far distant through imagination pass
    where ghost-winds push over colorful cavernous morass
    down into hauntingly beautiful valleys well below
    bringing along sweet lovers night-dreams well in tow.
    Therein abound orchards gifting hot love-bound feasts
    harvested daily by the most beautiful tame beasts.

    Heard is most magnificent music mind's eye can create
    sunset hues bring deep joys far too often denied by Fate
    and in that moment all remaining sorrows cast adrift
    on oceans that hide away, to forever shift.
    Therein abound orchards gifting hot love-bound feasts
    harvested daily by the most beautiful tame beasts.

    Nights beckoning moon summons up, love cherished memories
    devoid of life's many woeful heart aching miseries
    as heavenly skies sing out and parade wondrous new scenes
    one can transform from any age back to their teens.
    Therein abound orchards gifting hot love-bound feasts
    harvested daily by the most beautiful tame beasts.

    Note- This is harvested from a poem I wrote back in 1974. I decided today to use it as a foundation and do heavy editing to create a better presentation.
    Hope yo may find this romantic poem a pleasant read and perhaps even spark dear sweet memories for you too.

    Together We May Till New Virgin Ground

    Each night my muse asks me, what have you done.
    Have you inked pages for joy or just for fun,
    I command you do so before you sleep
    Give Love, Joy or Sorrow but make it deep!

    As heart and soul opens, give equal measures
    Compare life's miseries to its treasures,
    Describe moon's brilliance and its sweetest shine
    As gifts that enter other's hearts and thine!

    Impress this world and in its destined Fate
    Birth true words and scenes readers can relate,
    Ask me for answers that elude your mind
    Give honor and respect, receive in kind!

    Together we may till new virgin ground
    Enjoy play of harps and angelic sounds,
    Stroll romance's gardens, adore its flowers
    Increase pleasures and our writing powers!

    If in this trek your heart strays to the dark
    Do so with intense flames, not a mere spark,
    Write soul's worries and its dearest of dreams
    For giving of heart and soul oft redeems!

    For This Is The Story, An Old Poet Sought Not To Miss
    (Part One)

    I've ate Eden's last apple, coveted Jason's* golden fleece
    chained myself in caverns of darkness, begging no release
    refused mighty crowns of power, fed myself painful feasts
    crushed my beating heart, as if it were a ravenous beast.

    I've tamed the lions of Serengeti, sailed around the Horn*
    trekked unarmed, darkest jungles, where fiercest beasts are born
    slain dragons with Sequoias, tossed Rock of Gibraltar*
    walked in realms of Hades, spat upon its first altar.

    I've outran Hermes*, sank my teeth deep into granite walls
    sat beside Odin, gave Thor's first crown in Valhalla's* halls
    wrestled mighty Minotaur*, its armored hide I ripped
    stole the Nectar of the Gods*, laughed at them as I sipped.

    I've shot Eurytus' bow*, killed Titans* with Heracles sword*
    defeated dark Elf* armies, massacred Atilla's* first horde
    swung Hammer of Hephaestus*, slept in Forest of Burzee*
    trained Arminius army, taught them to show no mercy.

    I've quenched Vesuvius fires, held lightning in my hand
    flew bright skies over Asgard*, defended its precious homelands
    swam with Undines*, feasted with beautiful Amphitrite*
    fished with my friend Ao Qin*, dragon king of the Southern Sea.

    I've seen this world of fantasy, inked its splendor in words
    sailed in its oceans of love and flown with magical birds
    dreamed in its word-paradise and found true love's deepest kiss
    for this is the story, an old poet sought not to miss.

    Inspiration, A Gift From Sweet Emily's Hands
    (A Tribute To Emily Dickinson)

    Sweet Emily, you inspired me
    to paint scenes of life's epic seas,
    in dreams soar to paradise fields
    rise up to love, lower my shields.

    Inking rhyming verses to please
    you sat so perfectly at ease,
    your poems marvels to behold
    you wrote of love and life so bold.

    True beauty splashed out in black ink
    gifting words that cause us to think,
    good and bad in equal measures
    life sad, yet seeking not treasures.

    Compelling to the reader's mind
    free, seeking no return in kind,
    your golden pen, your mighty brush
    brilliant art painted, without rush.

    Sweet Emily, you inspired me
    to paint scenes of life's epic seas,
    in dreams soar to paradise fields
    rise up to love, lower my shields.

    Your loving heart, broken too oft
    tho' your words were spoken so soft,
    loss and pain you had to endure
    yet your poetry, sweet and pure.

    Now your soul reveals from the past
    to show depths of kindness that last,
    to show passions in this dark world
    this pit, we find we have been hurled.

    Writing you words in loving praise
    you from darkness, this soul did raise
    to see dawn cast breath in the morn
    to find truth, in my being born.

    Sweet Emily, you inspired me
    to paint scenes of life's epic seas,
    in dreams soar to paradise fields
    rise up to love, lower my shields.

    Breathing, Soft Heaving Bosom Swells

    Swaying rhythmic her hips
    Tantalizing her lips
    Blue casting sapphire eyes
    Dancing under night skies
    Such heavenly sweet trips
    Docking side by side ships.

    Breathing, soft heaving bosom swells
    O' pleasures, past glorious bells
    And Fated bounty was given
    For then Love was in the liven
    First kiss, gold coins in wishing wells
    Sexual thoughts one never tells.

    Swaying rhythmic her hips
    Tantalizing her lips
    Blue casting sapphire eyes
    Dancing under night skies
    Such heavenly sweet trips

    What Matters, Should One See Past That Last Mile

    What matters, diamonds , silver or gold
    when one is getting slow and too damn old.
    What matters, if the truest of truths be told,
    that dying alone is so sad and cold?

    What matters, if life yields no more ripe fruits
    when one will soon visit soil and grass roots.
    What matters, if ones buried without boots,
    or if one can dies with life's stolen loot?

    What matters, if blue skies no longer smile
    and one sees the past, world's evil and guile.
    What matters, should one see past that last mile,
    or hold on harder just a little while?

    Love, Family and Life is what matters
    Without Love, all is thin glass that shatters.

    Old Note- Inspired by book I read. A very sad tale of an old man dying alone in a cabin, deep in the wilderness. Having lived his last years enjoying Nature's beauty and the inner peace that often comes from its magnificence and solitude. He having lived a great and wild life when young but dying alone , having no children and self-exiled from his friends, saw the sad truth in his last days..

    New Note- Sharing this taken from one of my private journals. Looking back I I see that this was written a few months after my 14 year old baby brother's electrocution death.. Trying to remember how much of that went into this piece....

    Note: Yet again it is my great pleasure to present here another collaboration written by we three poets,
    my dear friends, Susan Ashley, Teppo Gren and I. I feel very blessed to have written my part
    several weeks ago and then watch as each of my wonderful writing partners carried the torch
    to make this a beautiful and richer creation. As always both crafted such exquisite and profound
    verses to bring this poem to a very fine finish.
    I hope the readers enjoy the fruits of the unification of our three hearts, souls and minds,
    with the sincere goal of each- striving to give to others..

    All In All, True Magnificent Treasures Given

    Luscious the fruits, beautiful under moonlit beams
    firmly planted roots, outstandingly hot, lush-sent dreams
    all in all, glorified visions, heavenly sent
    treasured deeply with rapture stored, sweet love-nights spent.

    Tender kissing bites, honeyed dessert offered free
    wonderful the flights, through blossoming forests of trees
    all in all, miracles were given, lost soul found
    in resplendent nights, covering soft virgin grounds!

    Gold fairy dusted, jeweled eyes sending bright smiles
    each promise trusted, an angel with no dark wiles
    all in all, true magnificent treasures given
    gracefully sent, in true-deep bliss, purely driven.

    Beneath plum skies starlight glistening in her eyes
    I see all I desire and I do fantasize -
    looking into her goddess blues, crystal gazing;
    of our wild delight to be forever blazing...

    In Eden’s solitude we dance to soft sighs of
    waltzing wind-songs’ stirring verses promising love,
    with lilting whispered melodies so inspiring
    my appetite for her wanton and untiring.

    Ancient woodland’s moon casts smitten luminescence
    breathtaking in beauty she outshines its presence,
    ecstasy flows an intoxicating river
    inebriating essence in love’s deliver.

    Your vivacious beauty enhanced by golden rays
    illuminating your grace with a loving gaze
    with ardent reflection of my phantom desire
    to allow the pledge of love finally transpire.

    Two common souls released from infernal abyss
    to engage a rendezvous with heavenly bliss.
    Together our spirits soar to realms of delight,
    two lost souls united in the fading twilight.

    With a chapter closing in reverie’s accord
    we share a secret paradise of love’s award.
    All in all, wondrous senses of passion recall,
    from heart to soul we reminisce, as love is all.
