Tombstones And Cemetery Await Us All, Be Brave

Howl of the blowing winds waywarder than others
In the darkened cave where evil desires wait
Caste us into stiff clans with warriors and brothers
Those of evil wrath, villainy and hands of Fate
Allow us this our fallacies and heedful needs
We of mortal flesh that walk barefoot and so brave
Always comes the bad, the pains and the massive bleeds
Salvation hardly ever comes but mercy saves
We who wait around campfires and hold our heads proud
Ready to fight the wicked world and thank our God
Do not think evil demons in their long black shrouds
Can meet anything from us except our iron rods
We the brave that face the hungry snarl of cracking
With gritting teeth and our courage never lacking.

A Little sidenote here....On my last ship in 1995. Everyone called me "Tombstone"
because of my age, and my Sam Elliott Mustache.
It all began when we were watching the MOVIE "TOMBSTONE", and stuck.
Even the day I retired. A Master Chief friend of mine had the Cooks make
Me a CAKE shaped like a gray tombstone before I left the ship.
NOW...I look back and remember. NONE of us know, or will know...
When we get our Final TOMBSTONE.
I may be older than most. I may say things not everybody will like.
But despite all of that. I will never lower myself to the level of Liars, Haters, Cheats, and Hypocrites.

I Was Born Rowdy And Cowboy To Be

I wrote you a story, wrote you a song
How cowboy left to ride the purple sage
Said to his sweetheart I will not be long
I will soon be on the great hero's page
My fine six guns will be hot and blazing
And that target will be full of round holes
Whiskey drinking weekends all a 'crazing
Making money and having fun my goal
And poker table will be my best friend
In local saloon I spend my free time
O' yes, my horse with me until the end
I do so love beautiful western clime.

I was born rowdy and cowboy to be.
For truth is too much fight rests within me.

Note: I drank too much whiskey last night.
I sat up til 3AM writing poems .
this was the last one I composed, because I was watching westerns on TV..

My very good friend, there is a lot of truth in those verses. The more truth within a poem the greater it is. Besides I always loved westerns... God bless..--Tyr

Of Homer, Iliad And The Fall Of The Mighty Greeks

As the moon repents from its many vague allusions
And the splintered rains never rain upon true imaginations
What are we to think of those fools, plastic imitations
Does bright dew and turnips spring from revolutionary actions

He toys with unrepentant love and celebrated crisis
Begs the grey-cast dawn to organize her princess retreat
While pigs and blinded dogs drink furiously at the oasis
The Greek, smokes final cigar and tells us damn you boys eat

We tread ever onward; dawn stimulates its latent spirit
Ahead lay the great battlefields of the valiant Greek dead
Clouds begin vomiting and blood spurts out from trees near it
Homer ghost comes, cries lets be true to our heroes
    instead.

Mighty Greeks fought hundred of battles had heroes in all.
Sad, nobody stays on top, so even the Greeks had to fall.

I Dream With The Moon, The Soft Moon And I

Walk with the shadow, the shadow and I
I dream with the moon, the soft moon and I
I ride with the horse, racing horse and me
I imagine truth, the great truth of we
We chase the rainbow, the rainbow we chase
There is no real gold, no gold in that place
    Sweet is her charm true
    Her charm overdue
    Walk with her shadow
    Moon is glowing down
    Her beauty is real
    Real her beauty's deal
Walk with the shadow, the shadow and I
I dream with the moon, the soft moon and I.

And Then Remember Faith And Truth Brought About This

Marveling at the deep darkness of sunless days
Abject idleness of rivers that do not flow
O' lord bring us more of your true brightened ways
Give unto us again, your holy righteous glow
We pray Heaven is truth of our holy reward
As we in glory walk upon its golden streets
Walk ye in sincere faith, yes we know it is hard
But in Heaven's silver halls angels you will greet
Dawn will gift true love and a beautiful sunrise
Years of happiness and more than enough pure bliss
Give unto the Dark One a most shocking surprise
And then remember faith and truth brought about this
A stunning tomorrow full of laughter and love
With manna from Heaven and dear gifts from above.

The Amazing Tale The Old Stone Sphinx Never Told

He walking softly repeating deep silence to the grass
Waterfalls gracefully wore away broken heart and stone
They invaded, full of dead vigor and obstinate mass
And maddening midnight the one- legged king slept alone
Nature held true to course and applauded the dying wheat.

While the tyrannical wind swept across the sad pregnant hills
Chaos and silence roved far and with nothing to eat
Except the panic and red paint the heartland over spills
Never mind the beast with its aggressive dancing about
Nor the bashful ghost that eats away the damn racing time
Therein caldron lies temptations crying with wounded shout
And the false prophet yells out dying here is not a crime.

He walked back to survey the revolution in its start.
He told father time, do not worry, I have here in my heart.

The Old Farmer Rests Warm In His Snug House

Within green grass in fields in Minnesota
an early Fall, a flaming sword to swing
    no horses galloping in Dakota
yes, that damn lying woman lost her ring.

a rotten world dying flecked with you
your broken left wrist eating its sweet pain
winter dares to swing whilst snowing its glue
and life's splitting heartache rides its black train.

green glows and races the old crying clock
its dying spirit cursing winter's breath
angry sailors pray their ships finds the dock
for vehement sea has gifted cold death.

Within green grass a wet trembling mouse.
The old farmer rests warm in his snug house.

Blinded By Life And Praying To Truly See

Blinded By Life And Praying To Truly See

    Hold that thought,
    the world desperately needs you
    not just your skin
    your deeper schemes
    nor love that hath
    quietly fled your stealthy
    grasp
    This loss, this aching
    scrapes the brittle bones
    tears apart your soul
    seeps into your midnight bed
    breaks your feet
    swallows your vanity
    and then vomits bricks
    of aspirations
    to be not a fool
    but race horses
    and fly kites
    remember nobody
    forgives you
    for your running away
    to the circus
    and watching all the clowns
    eye to eye
    finally
    able to see
    true life
    once more.

Dare We Beat Evil With Truth And A Heavy Sledge

Fresh rain pounded out cleaning again our Mother earth
above squirrels chattering for all they are worth
what matters is in this life we simply obey
do our very best and sometimes we kneel to pray
for guidance and follow the dear heaven-sent light
develop fully our brains to see with true sight
see glittering stars above, know our God is love
face off squarely and with heart deal world's push and shove
such gives us dear Lord's blessings and truth to walk straight
walk proud as we live, remember it's not too late
share our happiness with family and our friends
with conviction know Heaven be ours in the end.

Dare we beat evil with truth and a heavy sledge.
With our faith know wisdom and truth gives us the edge.

When Ocean Dries Up Will Be A Bad Plight

In that old house something seemed not right,
the hammer hits the nail right on the head.

The moon lost its bright golden glow that night,
the hammer hits the nail right on the head.

His old grandmother was losing her sight
the hammer hits the nail right on the head.

When ocean dries up will be a bad plight,
the hammer hits the nail right on the head.
