As Deep Darkness Its Rabid Cloak Around Me Spread

As deep darkness its rabid cloak around me spread
Dark shadows raced to their images thus display
They that were so bleach white, those old skeletal dead
Thought to play with me and have their damnable way
Yet, my father had in fighting taught me so well
My valiant heart had strength, vigor and valor too
Yes, I had been cast into the devils unholy hell
But this amateur lad, had some fine grand tricks new.

No fighting soul can win if faith is not in its brave head.

There in seething darkness, fear's breath began to blow
Short greenish puffs that transformed into savage beasts
With wicked claws and fierce red eyes that did so glow
And their own gold table lay human head for their feast
In the distant corner lay a long gold hilted sword
In a quick flash it was mine in my eager hand
Then newest beast spoke, come on I am growing bored
Lets kill this old weak flesh and go ravage across his land.

No fighting soul can win if faith is not in its brave head.

With that I quickly lunged forward and off came its head
And its huge body collapsed into a hairy mess
Next the far lesser beasts for dear mercy each then plead
And even the smaller ones their wicked sins confess.
Only beast left, a three headed snake with poison tails
And I could easily hear its deep cast dark curses said
All began with evil prayers beseeching dark lord of hell
And next came the hateful cries of the murderous dead.

No fighting soul can win if faith is not in its brave head.

    .........

Love That Struck Its Blow, Our Romance Was Born

As fresh clear water flowed over sweet virgin soil
She saw that fantastic beauty Nature hath made
Flying earth, its gifts and blessings, its heavy toil
From those yesterday, passing times our God hath played
Comes the finer gifts that so often romance embroils.

Into the woods she and her dog took a walk
She singing her fancy song with the greatest of glee
Thinking this beauty stirs my heart, sure wish it could talk
As for now we must see it, only my fine dog and me
Then she saw it and heard a flying blue-jay squawk.

She a vision, almost a earthbound goddess divine
As she saw and wished, so did Nature wake to see
This young girl with large blue eyes so damn very fine
And I was there hunting right where I should be
Looking to slay a buck, for a supper on which to dine.

Then quite a shock, she saw me and yelled out to me
I shot back, I was here hunting until you came
You made my buck alert, so very fast it did flee
Say beautiful gal, what the damn hell is your name
And that snow-blown cold winter she did marry me.

What Of Such Beauty, Is It More Than Just Skin Deep

    what of it?
    thunder and lightning
    dancing across muted skies
visions that eat into a hazy brain
    as soul struggles to cry
    O' but
    nothing is sacred
    not her beautiful hair
    nor
    her raging sexy eyes
    she that broke the mould
and we that saw the ravishing fruit
    her smile a fresh hello
and her heart waiting to mate
    I so shocked
when she did not say no
    and that lonely
    night
    she became mine....

    For seven weeks
    we loved so
    morning noon and night
    we dined on
    our love
she my angel that gave me
    her all
    and I in a heavenly
    bliss.....

    but
    how was I
    to know
    she knew not true love
    her hard heart
    spat at me
    when marriage
    I proposed
    then out from
    nowhere
    it came
    a breakup letter
    that she wrote
    stating, its been fun
    but lord you know
    you could never be
    a husband to
    a beautiful thing
    so very precious
    as I....

She The Ravenous Queen, That Can Have All My Tomorrows

    Ah that creamy chocolate
    swirl
    of gold-blasted passion,
    it fingers roaming and
    gifting deep titillating pleasures
    with both our lips
    that gift honey-breaded
    sensational
    love
    a steaming arena
    of delight
    your body
    its sexy curves
    and ravenously
    hot
    hidden
    oasis .....

    O' my this soul
    seeks none other
    than you
    my princess
    with
    that raven-black
    smooth hair
    luscious lips
    ten mile
    long
    tanned legs
    come with me
    to our oasis
    let us drink of
    passion's sensational fruits
    whilst
    the Heavens
    our song plays....

    and watch the
    fingers of dawn
    gently caress
    our beating
    hearts
    as we
    seek what our
    bodies
    so need
    you my dearest
    my angel
    my beautiful
    queen.....

    shall we forever
    see the
    rainbows
    hear the
    melody
    and wake
    to
    dawn's
    hot swirling '
    breath.....

    as we walk along
    our white
    sand beach
    nothing around
    but blue
    ocean and
    birds
    we strip down
    and upon
    the white sand
    make feverishly
    deep love
    just
    you and I....

    may we
    have all
    of our tomorrows
    be as today
    together with both
    arms reaching
    for that
    golden cup of love
    and exist in
    our
    Heaven
    upon
    our wonderful earth....

    tonight dearest
    the stars
    will shine upon
    our two bodies
    entwined
    upon silky satin sheets
    with purest bliss
    within
    our
    two sweet
    beating hearts....

My Tired And Lost Soul Next This Wise Advice Out It Screams

As harder blown dry winds skulk among oldest granite stones
And the spitting sun flamed the mass of white desert sand
I trekked alone, jagged pains pulsing through my old bones
My weathered soul cursed God of this god-forsaken land
I could see a gloomy night trying to rear its ugly head
Where could in this barren pitiful hot, hot place dare I sleep
All here was hard rocks and sand, not a damn good place to bed
I thought this damnable fierce land wants this dear life to keep
As my worn-out soul begged for water and damn lot of rest
So under a scrubby bush I sat down to my diary write
Was this a hazardous darken journey, a god given test
Then these eyes saw above, bright stars painting the night.

With my nightly prayers said, I laid down to dream
And this love-struck heart recalled her very beautiful face
And how we together were such a great and fine winning team
Then massive sadness flew on into my brief joy replace.
Dawn's breath was blown and my romantic heart finally woke
This reborn spirit decided to this abject darkness fight
Mused I, this soul-searching journey is indeed no damn joke
Surely it was not my responsibility to set things right!
Had she not to another man sworn her undying love
Promised him to be his new and true beautiful queen
Even next, promised to forever love to our God above
And swore to forward race over to his daring dark scene.

My tired and lost heart soul next this wise advice outward screams.
Son, you deserve much better than her dark treacherous beams.

Yet I Only Desire Loves Immeasurable Truth

Death so like a shadow this poor soul seeks
Whereas new dawn its breath so slowly gifts
Moving in cadence, its rhythm so sleek.
And adversity, it spits in dark shifts
Holding true, its thunder it soon displays
Undefeated tracing of horizon's stone heart
Such tis magical beauty cast each day
A long trip, would be folly not to start
Within fusion of red blood and white bone
Journey I, stout of heart and willing mind
This conscience cleared of black-hearted stone
We pray the light of truth we may there find.

Rumor has it there lays the fountain of youth.
Yet I only desire loves immeasurable truth!

I may be older than most. I may say things not everybody will like.
But despite all of that. I will never lower myself to the level of Liars, Haters, Cheats, and Hypocrites.

To Ask My Mentor, Will I, Sir Will I, Ever A Great Poet Be

So like a eighteenth-century painting, her almond face
this year's flowing sky and sun flashings paler by the day
ghostly marble and statues grinning at a slow dying dawn
and my sad heart grieving for that which nothing can replace
as the moon ran away and the forest turned dark grey.

There in the lonesome shadow, a statue of Master Poe
his stern face, almost questioning my old poetic soul
have you your poet's heart gifted to the old God of verse
then I could his voice hear saying, a golden coin for the toll
and from the far crowded distance, a goddess rehearsed.

She of grand beauty, her eyes a cool-thrown Chimera bright
Saw my shudder and cried, be not thee afraid young man
I am but wandering child of winter's cold and frigid breath
I come here with the fleeting edge of dark night my new plan
And prepare those dying of the dragon's most horrid hot death.

It was then she cried and darkness fell deeper than a flock of crows
Poe said, young man be thee stout as a true hero not afraid
The goddess is master of higher emerald cast poetic verse
I stay to speak directly into the young and clear poetic souls
Touch my head, drain essence of the long lost poets and feel.

Dawn cast new light and the alarm rang so damn loud
I woke quite suddenly and saw as my first new glance
Master Poe in the far corner vanishing in a quick blink
It was then I thought, damn that was my only chance
To ask my mentor, will I, sir will I, ever a great poet be?

The Truth Of Love And Its Awesome Powers

    Oft when dusk
    crawls on in
    its smells as
    freshly rotten leaves
    to some
    its dark
    its power is
    a wonderful joy
    as in those
    hearts that
    air spells
    its
    wickedness and
    evils
    sing....

    But as shadows arrive
    and their
    powers
    display
    this heart
    sends up
    its wise
    alert flags
    and cries
    man
    the fort lad
    for battles
    will be waged....

    As
    twinkling star
    spit down
    rays of speeding
    lights
    some hearts
    finds pleasure
    and joy
    for the darkness
    it destroys
    and the mind
    sees
    ravishing beauty
    in the glowing
    Heavens above...

    Viewing such wonders
    this soul
    asks
    our God
    if the future
    true love
    shall be given
    and then heart
    says
    sure it will
    just be patient
    and all
    shall one day
    shall come
    hold fast
    walk straight
    and wait...

    as I lay
    seeing
    galaxies dancing
    in the sky
    I imagine a
    goddess
    who will my
    hand take

    kiss me as a
    lover and never
    ever
    leave me
    our dawns
    will see nothing
    but love
    and her beautiful
    face
    we live for each
    other
    and two hearts are
    as one
    bodies entwined
    and love's
    amazing, magical
    and awesome
    powers
    absorbed...

Epic Sadness When A Beautiful Dream Crashes

    I am yet alive
    racing into
    red fires
    this body
    feels
    no pain
    trekking across
    tall mountains
    jumping into
    verdant valleys
    so far below
    seeing
    soft soothing
    rivers
    spread into
    planted fields
    beaver
    enjoying
    Nature's fast
    flowing flood

    I step forth into
    grey mists
    my dream state
    finally
    shows
    its ravenous
    teeth
    there in
    murky shadows
    a beastly thing
    growly and
    fangs showing
    it steps out
    red eyes glaring
    right at
    Me
    shivers splash from
    my spine
    and
    I knew
    this
    monster
    I would
    have to
    fight
    arrives...

    As it
    it
    charged
    I step back
    and my kick
    scored
    backward
    the beast
    fell
    its hideous
    head cut open
    I saw green
    blood
    gushing out
    as it
    died
    a cloud
    whisked it
    away

    Then she
    appeared
    a sexy
    kiss
    she gave
    I fell at
    her feet
    my goddess had came
    back
    her eyes flashed
    a true
    and deep love
    an echo
    blared
    O' hell no
    not again that damn
    clock
    alarm
    woke
    me up
    and my
    crashing
    anger
    raged
    for reality
    had
    just
    raised
    its ugly head
    and sadly
    worked called.

To Those This Brave, True Warrior Is Sworn To One Day Defeat

When violet pours its sadden verses onto burning sands
and heavens above spit green poison upon savage lands
up from murky dark evil caves so very far below
down were the wicked witches, red imps and black fairies grow
awaits beasts that exist to someday devour this dark world
if I get caught, take my soul into space to give it a hurl
but I guard my soul with Heaven's bread, its bountiful drinks
and in my bad dreams see the monsters as away they slink
however, certain nights when blood-moon shows its ugly side
down below are ravenous demons that are bonafide
beasts that human flesh exist slowly tear apart and eat
to those this brave, true warrior is sworn to one day defeat
such was the awful sad case on a darken June tenth night
when my dear life I almost lost in a horrible fight
for that black-night they had such a massive, horrid display
in the deep, eerie blackness this soul almost lost its way
As from one huge, cavernous, wicked room I simply slid
Into that wicked blackness I over and simply hid
There, each fierce and each with long sharp fangs and such deadly teeth
I feared even greater what beasts exist down beneath
I had Achilles sword and my soul holding his great might
On my side I had great power of Heaven's glorious light
The battle started when first beast jumped to grab my back
But to its shock off its ugly head I did quickly hack
The next was a large red-eyed three headed massive snake
This I saw and prayed help me lord please, for heaven's sake
It struck but hit its massive head upon the black stone wall
My sword found its true mark and into quick death it did fall
Last, certainly not least was one ugly two-headed cat
My knife ripped its belly open just as quick as that
Then he came forward to me speak to me, his blacken curse
Long cried, hate filled speech which he must have oft rehearse
About my weaken human flesh and what he would soon do
How I would cry out for dear mercy before he was through
I just laugh out loud and then I boldly spit in his face
And said, no you will not I am covered by Lord's grace
At the mere mention of Lord's name, he quickly shrank away
I knelt down to my loving, eternal God to then pray.

Note: I had a dear poet friend here ask me to compose another dark poem for her to read.
This request I simply could not turn down. I would post her name and give her credit for
getting this dark poem born but she asked me not to. So, in my silence I dedicate this long
dark poem to her and her own very massive poetic talents. She inspired me to write today!
    God bless her.

Leave My Feet In Poetry Now Firmly Planted

I tried, compose a revelation poem about truth
Did that in earnest, in my wild but honest youth
But with mind fighting a stone wall nothing came forth
it was as if I fought as South against the North.

My brain had shifted into a deep murky haze
I was prisoner chained by a dark-cast craze
Each dawn I rose against a grey, terrible front
All my verses came out silly or rudely blunt
Aggravating, torturous to the nth degree
I gave it a go, took a vacation to flee
Not a damn clever thing I tried seemed to work
I ended up thinking am I fool and a jerk
Failed, threw my hands up and said, to hell with it
I cried out, had me an bad uncontrollable fit
I took a short vacation to a white sand beach
Seeking again to my ran away muse to reach
As the ocean waves into my soul did soft splash
I ran around shopping spending loads of green-cash
Soon I forgot about all by having good fun
Rose each new dawn saluting the rising gold sun
Eight days, my time was spent exploring deeper life
Soon gone was any shred of hardship or dire strife
That morn, I rose seeing sun's sweeter golden rays
I discovered a true life in newer ways
That very night I sat down with pen in my hand
Out like magic beautiful words about this land
And then in another poem sweet love of true youth
Verses and verses slung about love and bold truth
Then it hit my thus, my angel muse had return
No more trashy stale words would I have to now burn
My muse told me she left to a hard lesson teach
She came back not because of words I did beseech
She came back when I had forgotten to her so love
So she left me to deal with dark world's push and shove

That cool night, I wrote a superb poem on true love
Even if I were writing hand, muse is my glove
Swearing never again, to my muse take for granted
I leave feet in poetry, now firmly planted.

Humanity Exists As Sad Creatures With Evil Skins

Reprieve may be a fine desert or a freedom to live
A blessing freely granted or the power to freely give
But we must dare admit what immense courage some things take
And use our smart brains to identify the sorrowful fakes
For humans react to threats in many kinds of strange ways
But evil exists and demand opponents dearly pays
War savagery that with pure delight evil men do
Truth is one sorrowful day it may attack me and you
This world to oft engages in darkness and destruction
Mankind adopts wickedness as primary instructions
We have no true safeguards when war its ugly head does raise
Best if we trust our God, and give his Son our faithful praise.

Humanity exists as sad creatures with evil skins.
Full of selfish desires, greed in hearts of women and men.

    Robert J. Lindley, dark sonnet
    Jan. 21st, 1972

Note. This is the truth about humanity.
Unless under Christ's banner, they too oft exist as evil creatures on the take, imho.
