    Default Welcome home, Nero!

Thanks to Jeff and others - http://www.debatepolicy.com/showthre...ecides-my-fate

The new addition to my family, 11 week old male, and he's awesome!! The friendliest little bugger in the world. Trying to get pictures but he is tearing around the house like a nut! I already introduced him to the Chihuahua, and they were sniffing noses like the loved one another, then the new little guy gave Porter a love swat, and the love was over, and Porter growled. For now we will let the kitty get acclimated.

So yes, not only am I in the dog house, probably forever, the cat isn't mine! She immediately gave the kitten to my son and said it's his cat. Then she proceeded to name him herself. I wanted to name him after a Steelers player, but couldn't think of any players I liked with cool names (Le'Veon would be weird for a cat). So of course the woman named him Nero, which is black in Italian.

I'll get a few more pics when all calms down. I have to go keep an eye on the woman, make sure she isn't poisoning my food!

He looks more like a Marshawn

Chad Scott, former Steeler? Wow, haven't heard that name in a long time! What made you think of him?

Here's a few more of my new buddy! The first one is funny, as Nero's best friend so far is my wife, he keeps trying to snuggle with her. This is him annoying her on the bed. I think she's warming up already.

This cat is WEIRD. He's suckling on himself. He's suckling on himself, and then he's kneading into the air with his claws!! And when he's suckling, it's loud! They say it's fairly normal, especially in kittens that may have been away from their Mom's at an early age. Being this was the ASPCA, it's more than likely he was away from his Mom early. Here he is next to my son.

I wish, and that would be cool, but then I'd really be dead! I wanted one or the other, actually. The only white ones they had also had a little black around the eyes, and I preferred a solid white or black. But they had tons of them there from all colors, and I wanted them all, even the 2 with HIV and the 2 with leukemia!! I hated she showed me them, as small kittens.

Briarcliff Manor SPCA here in NY. I'm a sucker for lost animals or given away animals in cages. That's why I never went. And also why I knew the minute I left to go there that I was coming home with a new friend, as no way in hell I go into a place like that and don't come out with at least one pet!

So I was upstairs with dogs last night, cat roaming freely downstairs to adjust.

And let's not forget that I wasn't allowed to get a kitten for YEARS. Technically still wasn't, but went and did it yesterday anyway.

So I go downstairs at like 5:45 this morning and I immediately hear a grumbling noise. I walk into her bedroom and instantly see the new kitty, Nero, purring and walking around on her pillow and head! LOL She said she was up half the night, as he kept stealing her pillow, head bumping her, nuzzling, tearing around the house, meowing....

And me? I slept like a newborn kitten!

A few more. I took a selfie with my little purring friend:

Here he is with his scratching post (bought the little bugger like $100 in toys, and going to Petco for more stuff today. Might as well do it while I'm already in the dog house!

And even better, the woman who didn't want him - here he is making himself comfy on her bed after she left for work!
