Israel heightens security after deadly attacks

JERUSALEM – Following two deadly Palestinian attacks, Israel said it was tightening security in major cities and in the West Bank on Tuesday amid fears that the violence could spread further.


`The move comes a day after a Palestinian from the West Bank city of Nablus stabbed a 20-year-old Israeli soldier at a crowded Tel Aviv train station. The soldier later died of his wounds.
......Also Monday, a Palestinian assailant stabbed three people at a bus stop next to a West Bank settlement, killing a 25-year-old Israeli woman and wounding two others..............

You'd imagine that they would've learned a lesson from the pasting Gaza got a few months back. Just goes to show that there's no such thing as being too tough on this scum !

Perhaps a few reprisals are called for -- to jog some memories ?

Undoubtedly !

The trouble with situations like these is that if you ever get attacks like those being insufficiently responded to, that would encourage the impression of weakness, or a lack of resolve to respond (they might be hoping for some exploitable 'war weariness' on behalf of the Israelis).

So it isn't just that reprisals are called for ... but that they are actually an absolute necessity, in my view. My best wishes to Israel in meting it out.
