Default A question for adblocker enthusiasts

Unlike the old ad box, the new one copies and pastes rather nicely. Does your ad blocker block out the below? Notice the ad on the far right. I didn't know teenage boys could be a Mom.

    Can you see this:

    <center style="color: rgb(62, 62, 62); line-height: 15.9899997711182px; background-color: rgb(229, 229, 229);"> </center>

Yes, a regular adblocker would easily block the entire ad. This is what it looks like on my side, probably because of different resolution?

I'd just be happy not to see those pictures of Pope Ratzinger.

I had to manually block the pictures, but I still see the text ads.

You need to add the source site to the filter in order to block the entire script. Highlight the area then right-click, and click on "Inspect Element" and it will give you the source site. Copy that, and paste it into your adblock filter.

    Good explanation.
There are some sites that do not allow discussion about ad-block. My husband was banned from a tech forum (of all places) for posting a link to ad-block. Apparently there is money to be made from these ads.

Anyone looking to look how to block ads isn't going to be clicking on them anyway. It makes more sense, to me, to help members with tech issues regardless if they are ads or not. Some people in the adsense gig make thousands per day on the ads. But you're talking different genres and mega traffic. What little is made here from adsense doesn't even cover the hosting fees, but it helps. All I ever said about any discussion on the topic was "where". It would be very rare for me to say it's wrong to discuss it or post links.
