I am cooking a pan of navy beans, seasoned with hog jowl. Gonna grill some pork chops and have some corn on the cob. And sliced tomatoes. Yummy for my tummy. Yep, southern cooking!

    "corn on the cob"...

    Reminds me...

I have two large pressure cookers that I use for picnics to cook "corn on the cob" for over 100 people who bring something to eat to the picnic. I set them on two propane burners. I pick up two bags of fresh picked corn on the cob, fresh picked from a local farm, early in the morning of the picnic. The bags consist of five dozen ears apiece. I pressure cook them at 5 pounds pressure for 10 minutes.

You have to cook and eat the corn within 24 hours of picking, or the sugars will be gone out of the corn and all that is left is starch. Several come back for seconds, and the ears are huge. I cut some in half on request for the kids.

I recall one woman who came back for seconds, saying it was really delicious, and asked where I got the corn from. I told her, and she mentioned that she got some corn on the cob from the grocery store the other day and it tasted like cardboard. That's when I told her about the time limit on the corn.

I work midnights, 7p-7a. We usually do the same thing. I get tired of fast food, though. And it makes me have a fat butt.

Last night I made a chicken broccoli stir fry with a recipe from Prevention Magazine. For being low cal it was excellent.

Soooooooo, last we talked food, it was black pepper chicken with white rice.

Then loaded potato soup with a ham salad and lettuce croissant from a place called Pat's.

This afternoon, I went to Red Lobster with a friend.

Crab stuffed flounder, mashed taties, salad, cheddar bay biscuits

Tonight it was a seafood medley, from H-Mart in Federal Way, with shrimp, scollops, mussels, calamari and some gelatinous thing I don't know what it was. It tasted nondescript. I'll have to google the description and see what comes up. It was all excellent.

I got the CSA box today so tomorrow night is veg night.

You can't beat the biscuits at Red Lobster, it's about the best thing they serve, hell I go there and eat so many that by the time my meal comes I am full.
