    Default Salisbury steak

Looking for something to make tonight took a pound of 70/30 ground beef. Added an egg, kosher salt, 2 Tbsp A1 sauce, a dash of fresh pepper, garlic powder, onion powder and handful of breadcrumbs. I mixed by hand and made four huge meatballs and flattened them to patties. In a pan with a Tbsp of oil I sauteed a small chopped onion then browned the patties. I took the patties out and deglazed the pan with a mix of beef stock and red wine and added a little flour to make a gravy then returned the patties to cook for 10 minutes. Served with salad. V4R ate 2 of the things - guess they were OK.

No wine for me except the little bit in the recipe. On meds for pneumonia and wine is not approved.

I don't have fond memories of Mom's Salisbury Steak as a kid. Her Mother was a fantastic cook but I think that it skipped a generation.

This time of year anything on the grill, I love center cut pork chops on the grill with some homemade southern Mac and Cheese ( anything besides that the wife makes is just a extra. ) This works great with a pork loin as well, soak it in your favorite marinade and then slice it in one inch steaks and grill, corn on the cob and some seasoned rice works great with this meal, a tossed salad also works with anything off the grill !!

As for the hamburger meat ( Chop meat ) that would of made some fantastic burgers, add a little Dales seasoning and onion soup mix along with some finely chopped cheddar cheese, patty out and throw on the grill.

    OK I am now hungry.
