A free verse poem. A poetry form I rarely ever write in..
Yet when I do, I strive to give it a unique presentation as is shown below.-Tyr

    A Heavenly Thought About You

Sever not that silver thread that binds your heart to mine
forget not my great love that sets you all a flutter.
Never deny the night that sealed our greatest vow
the eternal love that our melded hearts lives in now.
A reality better than just good, far greater than fine.

Ever resting deeply in our love as the red roses bloom
sharing all we have happily giving each day of the year.
Join me in thanks to the most divine gift we now share
as crimson rose I gently place in your beautiful hair.
Dream that wrapped us into it's great heavenly fold.

Hold onto each and every day as if it could be our last
remember the sweet kisses given day and night.
When your heart hears my voice and its softest caresses
know my heart aches to be forever in your hands.
Lets embrace every minute to further seal our love.

As our years flow onward and time holds its last gasps
your touch, heals my soul and waters my spirit.
Each new dawn in its glory, builds paradise and bliss
as we sail calm seas gifting love in each splash.
And leap to dance gaily in that pure heavenly joy.

Forever rests a love and place, that unites our hearts.

A reality better than just good, far greater than fine
dream that wrapped us into it's great heavenly fold.
Lets embrace every minute to further seal our love
and leap to dance gaily in that pure heavenly joy.
Forever rests a love and place, that unites our hearts.

    Dawn's, Softest Breaking Hours

Dusty, worn road where tall trees are made,
further ahead, within emerald forest crown,
Nature in its great wisdom creates a palisade
and softer beauty that rivals earth's starry gown!

Shaded woods, my soul would dare to reach,
beneath a rocky mountain reaching blue skies,
If only this majestic scene could forever teach
that Nature's truths conquers mankind's deep lies!

What of this mass of earth, plants and stone,
teeming with life on such an grand, epic scale,
Dare we marvel, we of lust, flesh and white bone
in our castles so dark, where often our sanity fails!

Shall we find that which our ancestors lost,
gems of wisdom, mounted in reality's towers,
Nature parades its majestic beauties the most
during each golden dawn's, softest breaking hours!

Note: This old poem I wrote at age 25, right at
a point a few rays of light had been cast upon
my empty plate. With still a long and weary road
to travel, this kept me on a narrower path- at
    least for a time..

    The Vow

"I will give thee years of labor yet to be
And fruit thereof," he said. She raised her eyes
Transfused with trust; "Bind thee not with such vows,
O' friend, lest thou art baffled. Give thy hand
Unto the giver of love, as I lay mine,
All gladly, in thine own; and let us forth
Upon the road, and take what cometh along
Of sun and storm, of tears and morning song."

Note : I was 18 years old and a senior in high school when I wrote this for English class if my memory serves me well.
Too bad, can not remember teacher's name, maybe it was Mrs. Archer.

    young rose set to bloom
    dawn's light awaketh my soul
    beauty in red shines

Her graceful dancing brought on great applause.
I so unworthy, bad temper the cause.

As her eyes spoke to my sad, longing heart,
Crystal palaces shattered within my soul.

Angel that once inspired great hope in me,
Her singing voice kissed my soul quite divine,
In my heart, Heaven then lifted the sea,
Spirit said walk away, she is too fine,
Decades shall pass, before you find sunshine.

Wrapped In Honey Of Her Naked Pies

Are memories really just our souls leaving
in clouds of shimmering hot mists.
And what of love and all that hot heaving
or stored memories on lustful lists!

Can the mind create truth from mere dregs
women so beautiful your brain cries.
All curves, graceful long ,long sexy legs
wrapped in honey of her naked pies!

Alas! Say it tis not a treasure imagined
what of the deep sensations of bliss?
Or her choice of lingerie in latest fashion
epic thrill of that greatest ever kiss?

Slay me now, if my treasures are not real.
I want no world devoid of that hot night's thrill.

Mourn Not, Death Can Be A Gift

I die more wrapped in stone each day
    storms batter my empty seas.
Shield broken, now red blood to pay
I dare to fight on my knees.

Death, holds its long, dark salute
    where banners fallen burn.
In life, its the last savage brute
this kettle and stew I spurn.

What of skies so brightly flying by
    summer's soft gentle replays.
I hold on, dare I not to ever cry
    time is just painful delays.

Hope once told me it was my friend.
Now I see how, it brings closer my end.
    `~~ ~~ ~~ ~~
I closed my eyes to accept cruel fate
apt as Hope visited my burial place.
It roused me pleading, "It's not too late,"
washed rivulets of blood from my face.

Death be gone, for I shall not yield!
Unwrap your dark hands from my heart.
A better gift from Hope, a new shield,
I will hold on with life as my consort.

Once more do I gaze upon skies of blue
Upon the seas, I've new memories to make.
Heed my warning, Death, this I promise you,
my lifeblood will never be yours to take.

    Robert Lindley & Lin Lane

Our collaboration complete, I wrote the first 14 verses , sent those to my partner Lin , then my very talented partner finished the poem with the ending 14 verses. And what an amazing conclusion she created!!!

    Relentlessly, I Will Rise

    I will rise
    Rise to fight back
Back into my memories of love
Love of my family and dear friends
Friends that kept me alive and sailing along
Along stormy seas in a sturdy craft of spirited defiance
Defiance of this evil darkness now attempting to cast me down
Down in spirit but now newfound bravery in heart and soul's dance
Dance into halls paved within the mind's power to fight on relentlessly
Relentlessly, I will command my spirit to hold onto the light, precious light.
    I will rise
    I will rise
    I will rise

    Within Its Shining Green-clad Domes

How stirs the heart when Nature sings
    within its shining green-clad domes!
O' what astounding beauty it brings,
    contrasting our dull man-made homes!

Blue skies above, grace Nature's plays
its creatures dancing to its tunes.
Across blue earth these green arrays
    rival clear nights brightest moons!

Always there, found by its ardent fans
teeming life jousting in their dance.
    Forever resisting man's foolish plans,
    inspiring beauty, love and romance.

Will man ever learn to see its soul?
Will he conquer his heart black as coal?

    Will McGee's Great Sorrow

Great sorrow resting in Will McGee's funny bone
big blue feather waving in his old hat.
A gambler's road-life, wild crazy and all alone
Will favored highly where he was then at.

Sorrow waited to remind him of his greatest loss
that pretty gal with softest brown eyes.
His wasted life flying away, he gave not a toss
except when he remembered her good-byes!

Lonesome thoughts invaded his rambling old mind
when night dropped its cold and dark veil.
Win or lose, life moved ever onward, often so unkind
on bad nights it was a sad, painful hell.

Great sorrow resting in Will McGee's funny bone
big blue feather waving in his old hat.
Tired of his sad life, he found fun was now gone
that bright new morn, shot himself where he sat.

    Walk Softly Dear Kelly Ann

Walk softly in my memories dear Ann-

Speak of quieter dawns and calm skies
    Sweetness that graces thy heart,
Remember messages in our joyous cries,
Blessings in each day's new start.

Walk softly in my memories dear Ann-

Sing of love, life and family times
Of our kisses under bright full moon,
Vacations on beaches in summer climes,
Loving nights that never came too soon!

Walk softly in my memories dear Ann-

Hold onto candles that burned nightly
and warm touches of loving hands,
    loving whispers uttered quietly,
within the paradise of love's golden lands!

First draft for the ten/ten/ten/ten challenge.-Tyr

    Sweet Child Of Mine

Forbid that sweet child such a long cold view.
    Winter delivers weeping deep chills,
upon our careless children right on cue.
Let household joy and warmth provide her thrills!

Nay! Her wants are all bright colors in red
pleasures that intrigues her aspiring mind.
She will not find her future love if dead
or in bad, ailing health and frozen blind!

Show her Nature's soft glory in mild Spring.
Then dawn's splendor can warm her needing heart
with soft colors that inspire her to sing
knowing clear wits are what sets us apart!

Dear child, wait for future promise, your due
When life blesses, you'll find love that is true!

"I wasn't sure what to do until I looked into your innocent eyes. The first time you woke in the night, you scared me half to death. My heart was filled with such fright, I could hardly catch my breath I fixed you a bottle of warm milk and rocked you until sleeping. I touched your hair, soft as silk. I held you close in safe-keeping."

9---Morning at the Quay in Venice by Helen Allingham

    https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/F...uay_Venice.jpg

    Father's Gone

Beside the seaside the fisherman's wife,
her child in hand, walks asking about loss.
Her father, years gone, left a life of strife.
They both offer prayers with sign of the cross.

A serene light graces this seaside day.
Time seems to still as mother and child gaze
to the past and father's laughter at play.
Now he's gone in darkness and time's dim haze.

They look and pray for their hero now lost,
finding peace in this daily morning walk.
Their lives once full demanded a harsh cost,
as misery follows them, see it stalk.

But, sights and sounds ease with familiar tune
and beauty helps the sad and grieving hearts.
The pleasant weather this morn in cool June,
missing only the flights of the martes.

Soon sailors and fishermen go to sea
with nets to cast while praying for big scores.
The strolling pair pray, "return him to me",
to Neptune they each sadly implores.

Thistle in a Field, by Fidelia Bridges 1875

There Was A Valley Meadow Resting There

There was a valley meadow resting there,
plant life flourishing in its golden views.
Painted on canvas brings awe inspired stare
    marveling at multi-colored hues.

    Dancing beneath a decorated sky,
were vivid colors bouncing back and forth.
Artist, image, soft colors blend to tie
with clouds breezing above from the cold North.

Captured beauty, splashed on by artist's paints,
    breathlessness in its tantalizing scenes,
paradise complete yet where are the saints
praising it by any and every means?

Splashed canvas held scenes of grass and flowers.
We gasp at all those colored showers!

Each Vision Of Beauty Stands Apart

Each vision of beauty stands apart and giving its gift
always taking one's spirited soul to inspire and uplift.
As my spirit viewed her beauty that hour and summer day
I stood a jagged mountain with no clever words to say.

Like child lost in wilderness straying soaked with fears
longing words of love to race from her lips to my ears.
Happiness that sprang from a young and hopefully eager mind
such joy could a wild young man ever dare to hope to find.

After she showered me with her love and beautiful glow
I begged for more and prayed for a never ending show.
Alas, fate fickle and recklessly mirrored my shallow way
cast sadly apart and apart we forever did have to stay.

Years can not banish memories, love for her life and soul
blessings can not erase gentle memories I forever know.
Memories of days and nights walking by her loving side,
pain strikes so deep its more than this man can abide.

Regrets are daggers slicing into a man's hurting heart
demanding sad ending be firmly held as was joyous start.
I try not to let such thoughts force me to weep and moan
remembering my deeds that forced her to be forever gone.

No power to reclaim her faithful love has ever came to me
fighting sadness that seeks to cast my spirit into the sea.
Slashing spirits that cast doubts and sins back in my face
while I ride darkest horse to never finish this eternal race.

I have memories of crowns that are forever ripped and torn
of painful dark robes burning my soul as they are sadly worn.
No saving relief in blessed sight, not even an ending date
as my pain endures sitting deep within this miserable fate.

A Measure Of His True Worth

Cavern blackness misery eats into this weary fearful heart
recalling summer night you tore my mind and soul apart.
End to this tormenting blindness I pray be coming very soon
another torment would vanquish me into darkness at noon.

Fighting blindly, lashing out with curses so evil and deep
soul shouts out haunting cries that forever stain and weep.
Do not judge me for the lost soul I find myself now to be
as I beg for the gentle and truthful clear eyes now to see.

I find a way to claw back to hope's newly crowned morn
be gentle and kind to this new soul having just been reborn.
Stars in the clear night sky honor beauty of Summer's moon
newborn light springs forth from miracle in darkness at noon.

Darkness recedes to comfort in the black cavern of its birth
New man finds hope in life and a measure of his true worth!
