IT IS THEN, I CAN ALMOST HEAR FOOTSTEPS FALL
In yesteryears, when this soul found you my rose
strolling beach in purple sandals and pink toes;
memory snapshots, images this brain now feeds
recalling shine of treasured gems fills my needs!
Now your ghost shadow haunts this weary house
welcoming relief from its one busy mouse;
tho' I long to hear that pretty shadow speak
tis so much more, your loving touch I seek!
When you turn and listen to my pleading call
IT IS THEN, I CAN ALMOST HEAR FOOTSTEPS FALL.
At that fleeting moment, when all time stands still
you vanish, leaving behind anguishing thrill.
Since this soul first found you my angel, my rose
Its never dreamed, of morns without those pink toes!

Note- Still posting old poems as is this example now posted. My muse and I having recently parted ways for a spell. I have been left to complete two unfinished collaborations on my own and without my muse and her keen insight--it has been a slow and hard task to accomplish and do so well enough to not disappoint my writing partners.
I pray, my efforts finished and sent to each talented co-writer yesterday,measure up and bear pleasing fruits..
