Will Their Valor And Courage Buy A Reprieve
Was it a nightmare, gory horror show
battlefield where death's malevolence grows?
Soaked by buckets of warm seeping red blood
that once peaceful soil now reddish, red mud.
Why had such valiant men sacrificed so much
leaving behind, lovers, wives tender touch?
Are all doomed to Hades, its punishments
leaving loved ones to scream wailing laments.
Will their valor and courage buy a reprieve
heal the misery of those that yet grieve,
give greater life and love to those left behind
or a sad loss to forever remind?
We may ask, do wars brave dead, go to hell,
even if those brave souls dutifully fell?
