Wisdom Found, Upon A Stone Once Cast

Night creeps in, shadows do their dark deeds
So much favors that blackness in night
Nourish the evil hiding in its darkened seeds
too often no gentle mercies and no respite

Where once lay love in a true heart
darkness may slide in to dance and play
A small mischief for a sneaky start
saving the very worst for a future day

Read deeper into this poem and behold
wisdom found, upon a stone once cast
Youth once wasted, regrets when too old
tis small relief, cherishing loves of the past

Night creeps in, shadows do their dark deeds
If truly lost, upon your soul evil feeds

When All Your Dreams Are But Dust

When deep regret meets the day
    rainbows seed no more awe
As one grabbed, thoughtless to pay
no seeing through a crystal ball

Life and love, mysteries to be found
    colors often dimmed by greed
Time the obstacle, no way around
    fruits harvested from darkest seed

Fate in this world, mercy rarely given
knobs on doors with no keys
Life brings bad, when its blind liven'
    no regrowing hollow burnt trees

When all your dreams are but dust
You are brittle iron covered in red rust

Underground Will Chill Eat Into Thy Bones

Death comes, sometimes ends miserable pain,
shatters dark chains that bind the living soul
What of life shall death allow to remain,
Pretty daises in old broken bowl?

Underground will chill eat into thy bones,
Bitter cold still cursing with deep soul aches
Will blowing wind hear thy sad, pleading moans
If ALL thy loved, falls in decay and breaks?

How is one to know, alone in the dark,
JUST AS DEAD AS ALL ANCIENT EARTHLY STONE
IS THERE, NEW CALLING FOR A SAVING MARK
Or merciful light sent there to be shown?

Sun and sky above, on all still give this,
Chance of living love, the dead surely miss!

    Questions Of Love And Life

    Where does lost love hide
in dry deserts filled with pride
    Behind mountains of hard stone
where traces of white are shown?

    Where does love stand aloof
In hot flames of a burning roof
    Beneath stones on cold ground
    within deep thoughts too profound?

Where will hope give dear relief
in dreams that speak of true belief
Upon seashells on a sandy beach
or warm fires within easy reach?

When will man, find life that shall hold
warmth for each from all the cold?

Live Or Die, You Couldn't Do Both

Upon that dark ground, life was bloody and blue
all dark mists brought more than was due.
Dusty storms, blew about with black hands of Fate
lost as hurt seemed to escalate.

Within hidden shrouds, nights ate sad, dying souls
you cried within odd rhythmic rolls.
Never again, never again, your sworn oath
live or die, you couldn't do both.

Crying for rest on that spirit-eating ground
dancing along but with no sound.
Whenever that rare day's gleaming sun did shine
you grabbed it fierce, saying its mine.

Greatest of dreams was life would find saving lights
    hope shown, banishing blackest nights.

If Last Poet Sent Last Verse Out To Fly

If last poet sent last verse out to fly
would man vanish into swallowing sky.
Or would Nature then act as it renews
with new birth to paint earth in rainbow hues.

If man lost this art in his great errors
wading into abyss of woeful blight.
Would life reek of agony and terrors
compounded by wicked pains in dark of night.

If last poet saw pen and muse perish
could Nature and earth stand the massive void.
In this life, poets gift us words to cherish,
sweet fruits in which many are overjoyed.

If last poet, failed mankind in despair
Could mother earth and Nature then repair?

Old Sailor's Heartfelt Plea To Lost Love

Thou hast torn fine sails from anchored ship's mast
In harbor previously thought true safe.
Thy sudden change has left my heart aghast
now thy poison arrows, this body strafe.

With thy dark, longbow and its hard flung hits
thee hast sent this soul to hellish, black pits.
Nay! Thy dread-wrath could not be any worse!
Found not, the answer to thy evil curse!

With thy words, black skies crushed sweet life from me
I beseech, thy raging heart to repent.
Join again! Set sail to gentle blue sea
Find thou, that mercy can truly be sent!

If thou can yet, grasp love now forgotten.
Find thee, hateful curse sent ill begotten!

    Not for contest..
This was inspired by my reading at my home poetry site, a truly superb (English) sonnet this morn!
The artist, caused me to strive to better in my writings.
I pray that this humble effort has proven to be a fruitful attempt at that goal...
Know this, a great many poets there have me truly amazed at their talent, inspiration kind souls, and giving hearts...

Her Beauty Glimmered Before Meadow Flowers Died

Her beauty glimmered before meadow flowers died
I saw her, night her golden tears fell as she cried
Blossoms fell to grace ravenously her bare feet
With her by his side, no man could know sad defeat

Only time could lessen her magnificent glow
Her touch equal to all Spring's bounty could sow
Golden relief sprung up from her beautiful gaze
She the treasure only a true angel could raise

Now lost memories attempt to dim her soft kiss
Her gentle laugh my sad soul shall forever miss
Why we parted, tis now within a dark black haze
My sad-dreams now lose her in midnight's deepest maze

Her beauty glimmered before meadow flowers died
I saw her, night her golden tears fell as she cried

Where Sky Begs To Touch Paradise Grounds

Sun beams down, flower blossoms open wide
Nature's artistry in its glory and pride
Where fair pools trickle forth into clear streams
Nature sings in rhythm with sun warming beams
Flows beauty, sparkled splash of rainbow trout
Listen with inner ear, hear each joyous shout
Spy above, jumping life in green-clad trees
Walk meadows wide-spread colors, with busy bees
With epic delight wade into cool brooks
To feel wade, can not be felt by reading books
Nothing measures up to Nature's splendor
Be grateful, with praise be an open sender
Where sky begs to touch paradise grounds
Nature joins the two and happily surrounds
