Another sonnet, I just had to write this one because my muse beat on me so! -Tyr

    Sunshine Upon A Dark Day

Great lamentations sadden this dark room
And cries held back cut the silent tears
Such young death displays a tragic doom
As survivors fight back their deep fears!

Yet outside the sun shines deeply bright
Day holds promises for those still living
More heartache will rip out this night
She is now gone, gone is her sweet giving!

Listen, angels sing this great loss now
As light filters into this lonely place
She lays there with no sweat on her brow
with sweetest smile on her beautiful face!

Night has fallen, we now feel very alone
She- the light on our souls, is now gone!

    Thoughts On The Rail

I ponder on, this big world, you and I
Does love ride the hard gusting wind
Moving its beauty about in a sunny sky
A journey magnificent but without an end!

I hope, life will forever hold anew
Eternity and the joys of sweet dreams
So often united in the hearts of two
Wading the brooks and mountain streams!

May I know, the joys my father found
The great treasures of his humble life
Spirit flying fast while earthly bound
Above the din of sin and earthly strife!

Thoughts swim in this old but fertile brain.
Memories from a wild past, rise and live again!

    Love, Betrayal and Dirty Dishes

I ate from your welcoming glitter plate
    touches easing my restless soul.
Desperate, in love praying, not too late
never saw two eyes black as coal.

There were sweet drugs in your soft words
and dancing steps in your walk.
I flew with you, flew with soaring birds
heaven closer each time we talk.

Now, I hang my sad head in deepest shame
as friends point out how you used.
Seeing contempt at how you played the game
that left me so miserable and bruised.

Now your dirty plate sits in a closet still.
Force myself, to lock it there against my will!

    Robert J. Lindley , 09-26 -2015

Note- Sonnet on deep betrayal and blindness that
    love brings.

Yet We Endure, We Lost Devils Of Mankind

O' what boldness the soft-shoe'd thief had
when rustling through my heart's home.
Invisible- never seen, but wickedly bad
and just as complicated as a geodesic dome.

Sent ahead- her vision to my soul entice
she of wondrous eyes and softest arms.
Knowing I'd be trapped by my own device
and never resist the lures of her charms!

Life's ancient irony is that love is blind
and biggest fool, a wishful hero to be.
Yet we endure, we lost devils of mankind
desperately swimming, each in our sea.

Of earth's patient resilience, love yet stands.
Victor, across each border and all the lands!

    Robert J. Lindley, 10-28-2015

Note- A sonnet dedicated to this fine day!

I woke- sweet light met my eyes
    aware that everybody dies
My- how youth and dear time fly
life again- yet for another day,
or is that just another comforting lie?

When An Angry Sky Cries Out

The sky was angry, in its sad, blue heart
For loss: Dark blight covering down below.
The two, joined yet now much farther apart
Its hurting heart began casting forth snow.

Its loud thunder was not then to be found
yet angry pain filled unrelenting clouds.
Below it saw destruction all around
blighted land so sadly weeping in shrouds.

And that mountain touching its glowing soul
had recently cried out in flowing streams.
Polluted and huge dust winds black as coal
blasted, tarnishing its bright crimson dreams!

Falling snow gave a most beautiful white.
Brief covering of epic man-made blight!

Another sonnet. I love to write sonnets, they come so easily to me. -Tyr

Cool Morning Winds Blow Soft And Fair

Bury your deepest sorrow in fertile soil,
let the pain waste away right there.
Sad heartache is worse than slaving toil,
yet cool morning winds blow soft and fair.

Do not be sad, there is hope in the life,
    rainbows appear when least expected.
Darkness rages on with trouble and strife,
judgment when love and faith are neglected.

Do not be downcast, blessings come unaware,
walk the path a man should hold dear.
Dare the night to give its best scare,
faith and love conquers every fear.

Watch the sky tilt its shiny bright head.
Hope lives on if you are not already dead!

    Glowing Cloud On Mountain Top

I met you there, so very full of grace
single rose in your shining raven hair
Radiance beaming from your sweet face
couldn't stop myself, I had to stare!

    Every moment since, forever treasured
nights glowed on, your smile a star
    Everything since that night measured,
love raced in deep like a speeding car!

Now time has given me such great sorrow
Heaven welcomed your spirit on in
Misery my food, heartache my tomorrow
forever gone my lover, my great friend!

Glowing cloud on mountain top now dances
I gamble that climb and take my chances!

    Early Winter Farm Chores

Shall I muse at midnight on the morning sun
now hiding very far beyond the pale.
Dread farmyard chores needing to be done
as morn sun rises over hill and dale.

Warm in bed, warding off deep windy chills
with winter marching in far too soon.
Tarry late and hot glowing embers embrace
rising late only in a lazy afternoon!

Or instead jump from this warm , soft bed
racing on out when red rooster crows.
Quickly getting pigs and chickens well fed
all long before the cold winter snows!

Up early before morning's sweet sunlight.
Another farming day, another long fight.

Hope Came One Day, Like A New Cool Spring Rain

Heartache deep, it was breaking granite stones
sun eclipsed on that raging fateful day.
He felt it, the blues down deep in his bones
lost love hurts, love hurts, as they often say.

She came on like lovely dancing whirlwind
such awesome beauty in her raven hair.
Becoming his hot lover and best friend
now he finds her love lost is just not fair.

He aching for days on that summer beach
and beautiful visions of her deep joy.
Her gone, life sought to miserably teach
realization she was never his toy!

Hope came one day, like a new cool Spring rain.
Any broken heart can find love again!

    Life Saving Rain

Life saving rain, drops splattering about
Indians in drought sought it with a dance.
Falling on tin roof, water from a spout
Every dripping hymn, giving sleeping trance.

Saving crops, the farmers to it give prayers
And seeds awaiting blooming sweet relief.
Vast seas depend upon rain's long showers
Inca priests killed for it, in deep belief.

Now we know, rain often heavenly sent
God washes this flower garden he built.
Rain renews, as its dear gifts are soil-spent
And we blithely pollute it with no guilt.

Indians honored their rain-god with glee
Not disrespecting it, like you and me!

    Epitaph On Embraced Denial

Rocks falling from so many dark night skies
Rotten fruit baked into newly prized pies
Evil racing in disguised as fine new light
For we not blind by this enlightened sight!

Storms now called lovely soothing breeze
Glory and praise heaped upon broken trees
The new thought given out as purest gems
Broken vows pretending to be faithful hymns!

Stars shining on man on sad earthly ground
Fail to expose decrees so wickedly unsound
Life now races on a long deeply false path
Lies told on why we now reap God's holy wrath!

O' man! Why not seek what you absolutely deny
That without God, our souls shall never fly!

    Sunrise, Heaven And Nature Conspire!

At sunrise, when morn breaks into sweet day
Darkness, eases into another far lost realm
Light returns to splendor in its bright way
Sun-ship glowing, celestial giant at the helm!

We that rise up to see this wondrous event
soak in its beauty, holding its glory fast
Our future embraced and our past thus spent
each day's memories and hopes sail at last!

Heaven and Nature conspire to give that gift
hours await to explore life's great dreams
Darkness fled, giving again blessed day shift
full of promises riding magnificent streams!

At sunrise, when morn breaks into its sweet day
Earth gives man more time to love, dance and play!

A Sea God, Man Learned To Domesticate
    ( POSEIDON)

Lighthouse light can now just barely penetrate
where rocky shores sit ready to decimate.
As fate waits ready to this ship devastate
waiting divine evil winds to designate.

Sea god in anger desires to demonstrate
harm no other deity can replicate.
To mortal man disaster will resonate
fear teaching him the sea god to elevate.

Great storm power man can hardly estimate
its divine angry cause only speculate.
Falling in religious search to meditate
pray for divine solution to celebrate.

When seeds of learning and logic germinate
Man found sea gods that he could then desecrate!

    Deepest Cut Of All

    Conjure up soothing visions to delight;
    sweetest triumphs parading over there.
Wound of love deeper, epic pain now slight
and images of angelic face so fair.

Jewels on sword she used to cut my hand
seeing the flash, feeling the awful scare.
So deep, up to golden hilt as was planned
images of her angelic face so fair.

    Anointed blade, poison laying on its edge;
such finer cuts, never a saddened tear.
No deep remorse for her broken love pledge
even so, hurting heart still wants her near.

Blade easily slides back into its sheath.
Stone heart dances on my heart's broken wreath.

    Within Love's Divine Spark

Shall I sing of dances in soft twilight,
Or racing streams, woods and fairies afloat.
Songbirds and colorful flashes in flight,
Deep gentle seas float with white sailing boats.
Or sweet heaven and God's majestic halls
And beauty of his angels as they fly.
Dreams of hope held dear, aglow in its calls
Golden city in divine clouds on high.

Woodland wonders and other precious things,
Blessings of love, a fuller faith instills.
    Life's serenity, honoring grace brings,
Bright rainbows towering over blue hills.

Roses cast forth soft hues of red and whites.
Dream memories of love's most treasured nights.
