IT IS THEN, I CAN ALMOST HEAR FOOTSTEPS FALL

In yesteryears, when this soul found you my rose
    strolling beach in purple sandals and pink toes;
memory snapshots, images this brain now feeds
recalling shine of treasured gems fills my needs!

Now your ghost shadow haunts this weary house
    welcoming relief from its one busy mouse;
tho' I long to hear that pretty shadow speak
tis so much more, your loving touch I seek!

When you turn and listen to my pleading call
IT IS THEN, I CAN ALMOST HEAR FOOTSTEPS FALL.
At that fleeting moment, when all time stands still
you vanish, leaving behind anguishing thrill.

Since this soul first found you my angel, my rose
Its never dreamed, of morns without those pink toes!

Note- Still posting old poems as is this example now posted. My muse and I having recently parted ways for a spell. I have been left to complete two unfinished collaborations on my own and without my muse and her keen insight--it has been a slow and hard task to accomplish and do so well enough to not disappoint my writing partners.
I pray, my efforts finished and sent to each talented co-writer yesterday, measure up and bear pleasing fruits..

Spirit, Let Thy Bond Be To Heart And Soul

Soul, find new ways to quell thy deepest fear
bring to life, new loves and hopes that are dear.
Look back, to strength and spirit of the past
pray for strong winds, set thy sails to full mast!

Heart, join this journey, thy soul's greatest quest
walk this path's end, succeed in this conquest.
Forget not, give thanks for help in this way
with prayers sincerely sent, both night and day.

Spirit, let thy bond be to heart and soul
in this allow love first, to be thy goal.
Find comfort in love, family, and friends
do this well, less need for future amends!

In this, embrace truth, as best course well set.
Thee may find less cause for future regret.

Slow Walk Into A Red Sunset

Can you slow walk into a red sunset
To find hidden and fine treasures within?
Stop wanting all the gold that you can get
Rise far above this shallow world of men.

Will you stop, to just see what you have now
And give thanks for gifts already given?
Consider love's greatest blessings and how
To live life true and truly start living?

Can you open your eyes to see hope's gifts
Listen for echoes that bring back true gold
Search for love and deep romance that uplifts
live life fully, before waking too old?

Will you slow walk into a red sunset
Live life true, not gamble it as a bet?

    Sonnet

Note. Woke today and found it was high time that I wrote another sonnet...
Now while looking back from with a red sunset, I see things a lot clearer and have far more understanding of man and his devotion to failure and grasping for shallow treasures this world presents as its traps...

In A Time And A Place, So Very Long Ago

Should man's daily treks include love of Nature's gifts
inhaling forest's beauty and blue, blue skies.
Vast oceans, sandy beaches, washing tidal shifts
enormity of it's gifts man too oft denies?

Walking these fields and over to the flowing stream
June's great shining day and a cool refreshing swim.
Waters found fast flowing, blasting welcoming gleam
and this soul glad it wandered thus on a mere whim.

Fine July night and brilliant stars glow far above
windows open to let in uncommon cool breeze.
Countryside, away from city's hustle and shove
laying back, resting this magic night, so at ease!

Wake to new day and life falling down onto me.
In past futures, rolls Time's round, never-ending Sea.

My not posting here in the creative Writing forum as of late has been due to illness not laziness on my part..
So I now post yet another poem written long ago...
I may post it at my home poetry forum but since it is about sex--not sure if they will censor it or not--even though it is in good taste with no vulgarity or crudeness or explicit descriptions...--Tyr

Beating Hearts Firmly United And Sex's Truest Joy

When two bodies upon one midnight bed doth rest
    under moonlit rays, magnificent sublime bliss;
Love for love, and cherished kisses by far the best
each in love, dares only the other to miss!

Sex and its truest joys they so faithfully embraced
    united in sweet paradise love hath true made;
he along her body every curve gladly traced
and within her so willing flesh his ardor played.

Yet sex to them was not some temporal pleasure
    for they both knew its power was never ending;
each finding the other as greatest of treasure
giving their thanks for this gift that God was sending!

With Love's deep truth, they allowed no lies to destroy
beating hearts firmly united and sex's truest joy!

If Only, Thy Light Should Return To Thee

If there were light and sweet love in thy heart
graciousness and warmth in thy pretty smiles.
No darkness growing within thy life's chart
we could waltz gaily, going extra miles.

Our love, stained and dry as ink on this page
those soft love-dancing shadows are now passed.
I could forgive, were I wizened old sage
now in this soul, bitterness has amassed.

Once, well before your soul turned cold and dark
you had light and love, both so well in hand.
Greed made you wicked, left its nasty mark
your hatred became more than I could stand.

If only, thy light should return to thee
I would love again, hold you next to me!

Once Powerful And Great, They Are No More

Why walk earth's realm, if not to love and feel
why suffer stings and dark arrows of fate
if not to find the truth and what is real?
Sad sad words, sorry-it is just too late.

Ancients feared their great all-powerful gods
living invisible far above the fray
power to destroy with wink and a nod!
Yet where hide, those all powerful gods today?

Truth and light came obliterated their lies
such sad ends come to all that worship fear
Gone are their vast kingdoms in hidden skies!
Modern man sees, sheds not a single tear!

Why walk earth's realm, if not to love and feel
If not to find the truth and what is real?

Hidden Behind The Red Door, Massive Chests Of Gold

Evils behind red door are seeped in darkest sin
each generation, crowds clamoring to get in
They fight long battles to find dark lady in red
not realizing she awaits each when they are dead!

This sad world presents so many dark paths to take
entices man's follies, so as to each lost soul break
Red door is guarded by its dark Lord's black-clawed hand
light is shut out so victims can not understand!

Eager throngs, wallow in its many festered pits
depths of darkness hide many broken into bits
When its tortured victims beg in vain to be freed
they find out, they are now its future rotten seed!

Red door, red door, O' how sweet are thy lying calls
how stained and twisted are thy never ending halls!

All In A Mind Seeking Needed Relief

Between nine majestic, ancient oak trees
    in ten unexplored dimensions unseen
rests seven enormous swirling blue seas
full of desperation and hopeless pleas.
All in a mind seeking needed relief
from a deep love turned bitter and forlorn
gone thus, is hope in Hope and its relief
with prayers wishing to have never been born!

World's hidden shadows play with old bleached bones
in massive desert crevices, dark and deep
Why moan dying winds and cry out old stones
for one soft-touching dream in nightmare sleep?

Beneath sun and sky such ancient trees dwell
are we more than just a living clay shell?

Dread Of The Coming Of The Empty Void

Faded flowers remind me of memories stolen
Drowning in turbulence, rivers so deeply swollen
Where once immense fertile meadows with bright colors shown
Dwells a dark song, chaotic words and a muted tone.

I miss lost views of dawn's true beauty and coming day
Scenes of soft-blown winds causing weeping willows to sway
Soaking up sunning-rays that once tanned my shirtless back
Summers of love, life truly lived, I have now lost track!

Long for, soothing treasures my mind once happily held
Not empty darkness, where heart and soul with a void melds
At times fleeting fragments seen of a sweet angel's face
Then nothing more, for this disease such joy will erase.

Wicked curse to lose that which one holds so very dear
Walk in dooming darkness with mountains of epic fear.

    Note-
Alzheimer's disease is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions. At first, someone with Alzheimer's disease may notice mild confusion and difficulty remembering. Eventually, people with the disease may even forget important people in their lives and undergo dramatic personality changes.

Alzheimer's disease is the most common cause of dementia — a group of brain disorders that cause the loss of intellectual and social skills. In Alzheimer's disease, the brain cells degenerate and die, causing a steady decline in memory and mental function.

Current Alzheimer's disease medications and management strategies may temporarily improve symptoms. This can sometimes help people with Alzheimer's disease maximize function and maintain independence for a little while longer. But because there's no cure for Alzheimer's disease, it's important to seek supportive services and tap into your support network as early as possible.
    Symptoms

At first, increasing forgetfulness or mild confusion may be the only symptoms of Alzheimer's disease that you notice. But over time, the disease robs you of more of your memory, especially recent memories. The rate at which symptoms worsen varies from person to person.

If you have Alzheimer's, you may be the first to notice that you're having unusual difficulty remembering things and organizing your thoughts. Or you may not recognize that anything is wrong, even when changes are noticeable to your family members, close friends or co-workers.

Brain changes associated with Alzheimer's disease lead to growing trouble with:
    Memory

Everyone has occasional memory lapses. It's normal to lose track of where you put your keys or forget the name of an acquaintance. But the memory loss associated with Alzheimer's disease persists and worsens, affecting your ability to function at work and at home.

    People with Alzheimer's may:

Repeat statements and questions over and over, not realizing that they've asked the question before
Forget conversations, appointments or events, and not remember them later
Routinely misplace possessions, often putting them in illogical locations
    Get lost in familiar places
Eventually forget the names of family members and everyday objects
Have trouble finding the right words to identify objects, express thoughts or take part in conversations

    Thinking and reasoning

Alzheimer's disease causes difficulty concentrating and thinking, especially about abstract concepts like numbers.

Multitasking is especially difficult, and it may be challenging to manage finances, balance checkbooks and pay bills on time. These difficulties may progress to inability to recognize and deal with numbers.

Give heed, O Muse, but to the voice Divine

To Hold, Kiss Her Sweetly, Before I Die

If life were little more than ink soaked verse,
Would I so loathe this darkness I so curse?
Could this lost heart reap more than fleeting praise,
Live in joy and not this deepest malaise?

What of she love may gift, fairer to hold
Than treasures won, stolen or ever sold?
Would any dearest cost be far too high
To hold, kiss her sweetly, before I die?

If life ever grants love, fair and so true
I'll fight the worst of the worst to hold you.
When darkness arrives on its hellish wheels
She, my love, will stop it coldest chills!

Tears in these happy eyes, I see her face
Tho' I have yet to win her in this race.

Where Dawn's First Rays Meet The Bright Of Morrows

Where dawn's first rays meet the bright of morrows
mother earth and sun's massive power meets.
Days promise oft erase night's great sorrows
as Nature and man wake and rise to greet.

Streams, fields and bright meadows stir to inspire
sons of men, their imaginative ways.
Mere wild brutes before blessed gift of fire
huddling in nights of fear, awaiting day.

Arrogance came as Nature was subdued
with such power came again, dark they fear.
As their fear returned, Nature was renewed
Heavens glowed and shed not a single tear.

As twilight yields to the falling of bright
Man remembers what lurks in dark of night.

I Recall, You Named It Your Bluebird Sky

When this life gets hard, I refuse to yield
I go to rest in shade of poplar field-
Cool breeze and sunny skies laughing above
You think of you, and great depths of our love:
Dear sweet echoes in your singing at dawn,
    Poplar field, its mother deer and her fawn;
How Nature gave truth and wed both our hearts
So wisely joined two such differing parts.
Looking through tall trees and pondering why
I recall, you named it, your bluebird sky.
Nature found and truly blessed me and you,
    Cemented love and with its own super glue;
When those poplar leaves flutter soft and sing,
I see grace and beauty, know what it brings.

Love's First Kiss, Its Hopeful Spell To Remind

Walking soft clouds, heart in his grateful hand:
What great mystery did such bounty bring?
Who but a king could love greater this land
And live the life of which bards oft sing?

Peace in his soul, he ventured to Love find,
Laying all his worldly worries aside.
Love's first kiss, its hopeful spell to remind,
He dared to push against world's darkest tide.

Found he a sweet girl, hair of golden ray
With her came every new dawn's soft kiss,
He swore to love beyond his dying day
And in her arms forever find sweet bliss.

Peace in his soul, he ventured to Love find.
Love's first kiss, its hopeful spell to remind.

    Not for any contest..

Note.- Most of this came to me in a dream last night.
The dream girl was a beautiful girl I knew over 40 years ago.
Strange that this is the first time I've dreamed of her in forty years and
I have no clue where she is o even if she is still alive..
A poet must write , even if mysteries still abound.......
