Default Poems beaten out of me by my Muse.

Sometimes when I am lazy or just distracted my muse comes along demanding I do certain writes. I refuse until the beating gets bad enough to cause
me a headache, then I relent.
This morn was such a case. She be a stubborn vixen that knows how to cut and slash, so I write and write.
Then if lucky get a pat on the head and a scolding reminding me that she ALWAYS wins out in the end!
With that in mind I decided to create this thread to race to,in order to write much sooner and avoid any more such beatings. -Tyr

Love And Hate, Monuments Often Born From The Cold

Love and Hate, monuments often born from cold
Truth is wisdom in the restless frigid air
Each rides on a consuming storm of the bold
With tributes often given whether wrong or fair!

Love, sings on a lofty cloud of pure delight
Complete with a heartache and stolen Soul
Like a magic rainbow just coming into sight
wisdom and folly both rest within the same bowl!

Hate, rides aloft in a forceful crashing wind
The product of emotions flying high and deep
So very often with no bottom and without end
A nightmare that crashes out from a dark sleep!

Truth, the light that cast out darkened Hate
A soothing breeze cruising in on a hot day
If found, the saving is never bad or too late
Instead path found to Love and Live another way!

Note: Do not blame me, my muse beat on me until I relented
and hammered this one on out.

Halloween Tale, Poetic Dream Of Raven, Poe And I

When into an unearthed slumber I fell
An accursed storm came with its black tail
Within isles of swirling doom and gloom
I woke, a prisoner in a dark tomb
Chained to the wall in a small blood-soaked cell
Lashed repeatedly, pains a bloody hell.

No dawn ever came, gasping echoes wailed
Hands of black had this tortured soul impaled
Every fortnight a red moon cast its rays
Shadows brought forth from saddest pallid greys
In agony, these I begged to speak
Lifting their veils, a few began to peek.

    Ungodly were hideous faces seen
Gaping fanged mouths, wicked eyes glowing green
Skeletal white hands with long dagger claws
Razor edges teeth shown in gaping jaws
Such a grave sight made my heart skip a beat
As evil green eyes did this poor soul greet.

That terrifying sight brought thoughts of Poe
His inspiring verses truths I did know
Conjured up my thoughts of Raven's dark words
My lifelong fear of that devilish bird
Soon as thought a magnificent voice spoke
I am Poe, dearest friend, so glad I woke.

At this news, my crying soul felt relief
Poe was my hero, always my belief
Somehow his words giving this soul power
To this heart sent bright bountiful showers
In greatest need, his speaking gave some peace
I knew only he could gain my release.

Alas! All was happening far too quick
I thought of Raven, this must be a trick
Could it be master Poe was not so near
Had I fantasized that he could appear
Knowing Raven my inner thoughts had read
Into defeated brain his poison fed.

Raven then demanded master Poe must leave
Return to his realm to Annabel grieve
Poe spoke, "innocent soul you must set free"
This battle is between myself and thee
Raven shot, "your pen gives me no commands."
I yield not to such great foolish demands.

Poe replied I need no poetic quill
To vanquish you and evil curse you spill
I need only this soulful heart in me
Faith and grace rests within my peaceful sea
Your villainy is cracking your weak shield
Nothing more powerful can your hate field.

At this refute, I saw Raven cower
From strong vibes of Poe's increasing powers
His legs crumpled while his beating wings flamed
He knew Poe won, he had been far out-gamed.
Light into that abyss began to flood
To wash away ghastly gore and blood.

Suddenly my chains crumbled into dust
To my freedom fast flee, I felt I must
To my friend Poe these grateful words I spoke
Thanks, for freedom from Raven's slaving yoke
For his inspiring poems, I have read
That sent me on poetic journeys tread.

Before my exit, I bid Poe Adieu
Praying him, divine mercy he is due
At those parting words, Raven flew away
Shouting out, "we will meet some future day.
On that day my powers shall be immense
From my weapons, there will be no defense."

With joyous glee, I stepped into the light
Then recalled that Halloween is tonight
Next thought was Raven may again appear
Would I be brave or hideaway in fear
Poe whispered softly, my friend I am here
Darkness shall not prevail, that truth is clear.

    Owls Looking Into The Dark

Sleepy Dreams - owls looking into the dark
sights imagined but can never touch
Glory and truth both, so brutally stark
images of great future Hope and such
Dances flowing in thoughts this mind relays
blood drying on a loose, tumbling rock
Desires the sad Soul fears and betrays
ship calmly resting at a favorite dock

Night gifts such sweet, brilliant views
A life wearing her gift of golden shoes!

    A Storm, A Tempest And A Hope

Remorse hangs like dark and bitter fruit
A tragic voyage far off the right course
Cuts to the mind with an evil root
Blood-lust still in the crying remorse
    Defeated
    Alone
A shot into this darkened lost world
Future clouded in a racing mist
A boulder into a grave now hurled
More pains added to the emerging list
Volley blasted to summon a darker Fate
Deep bath in seething, rich hate!

Ship sent to give a last chance
Treasure laid for the roving eye to see
    Nights promised with engulfing romance
Endless pleasures for our loving tree

Then the shadow raced into a new sight
Trumpet sounded to eat away your face
Darkness soon ate away the splendid light
Revealing my saddened soul in its deep disgrace!

No stars shine upon this torture heart
The world shudders without you in my life
We die a thousand deaths when we are apart
You my love were to be my eternal wife!

Now time eats into the void of our loss
As our future certainty is a great unknown
On this stormy sea swells give us a toss
Where such dark evil plans are blown

Pray for mercy to be downward cast
A miracle to be given and sent
If our love was ever meant to last
The Light must return and give blessed consent!

I resisted writing this one but it has been very well received at my poetry site and even "stolen" by an Internet thief, claiming it as his work.. lol.
And this one was published on another Internet poetry site many months later when I agreed to a request sent to me about it.
I remember being tired and worn out that day but nothing was gonna stop my muse from forcing me to get this one on paper..-Tyr

    Lost Love's Dream Shadow

Deep within a sunlit drop of refreshing rain
I saw a glimpse of her beautiful face again
Dreams flow past as swift mountain streams
she haunts me lovingly in midnight dreams

Outside my window the great moon dares to sink
more time, more time is all I can think
She appears all the more real in her golden gown
as the great moon glides slowly slipping down

I feel earth trembling deeply into night
nothing feels better, nothing feels so right
Her voice whispers from shadows all around
smiles so deep that it echoes in loving sound

As dawn flees upward to meet the newborn day
I hear her parting , caressing voice softly say
Dreams can not stay , they must go on past
our loves are forever and forever they last..

A sad sonnet that my muse beat out of me late this afternoon. That vixen be wicked when she wants something down on paper! Threatened to wake me all night if I did not shut up and just write! -Tyr

    Forever Lost, Lover and Friend

She felt the greatest weight of lost time,
that feeling when shadows creep all about.
Echoes drifted by, in tune and in rhyme
dark and draped around a loud agonizing shout!

No second chance to ever find her lost love,
her brave seaman feared now lost at sea.
Bright sun and pretty clouds resting above,
yet no beauty could ever reunite she and he!

Morning mists promised her ever so much,
there was again, love in many future dreams
However, nothing could ever replace his touch
his words flowed again like mountain streams!

Lone gull flew just within sight so far overhead.
She imagined, sign that her lover was truly dead!

    Robert J. Lindley, 07-24-2015

Note- A sad sonnet for a change. Only death is worse
than a lost love. A love one imagines to be the greatest
    to have ever existed!

    The Color Of Her Eyes

I sent her my all, my very best
    Rainbow flowers wrapped in true-
    expressions of love and tenderness,
all the goodness she was due!

I sent her, gentle touch each day
An echo of my eternal burning fire-
so hot, so hot it melts the sky,
birthing each day great Love anew!

I hold her, with hands that need
Kind that knows no mortal bounds-
soft petals on this wild flower,
saving both hearts that so bleed!

I hold her, in joy we are blessed
Life sings us a paradise realm-
where each moment fills our heart,
on a ship with Eternity at the helm!

The color of her eyes told me all!

Note , Very old poem written when I was 19
years old, for my first wife. This morn decided
to shorten and rewrite a few verses.
This is the resulting poem. A combo of the old
and the new-- just as life presents us!

    Blame This On My Muse

Fat Sacred cows come and they may go
words written in silky smooth flow
Ink to paper, "ain't life so good"
I would be better, if I ever could.

Behold treasures in paste they glow
a mystery to those deep in the know
Words that eat and savage the heart
dark confessions for a wicked start.

Those rays racing from dark red moon
they inspire then hide away too soon
Nights with winds that sing and cool
I the joker, clown and anybody's fool.

Fat Sacred cows come and they may go
words written in silky smooth flow
Ink to paper, "ain't life so good"
I would be better, if I ever could.
