I will narrow the subject to the frame of a personal life.
The birth of children and grand children is out of competition - the first place.
Then, the feeling that you was able to make your beloved be happy.
Professionally - you managed to do your job/work perfectly, no matter was it duly estimated, or not.

Give heed, O Muse, but to the voice Divine
Fearing not injury, nor seeking fame,
    Nor casting pearls to swine.

Well, that might be valid for many but not for everyone.

My happiest momments were the 8 months of being boyfriend of my wife, and most of the months during her pregnancy... the momment I saw my son was very powerful but somehow "short", same for the day I got married. It was "short" and a little bit confusing (now I'm a married guy, I kept telling to myself).

In a sense, yes. Obviously, I've had a life outside of politics (I'm no politician). Nonetheless, I'd say that, except for a fairly brief period of delusional insanity, which I later grew out of / was cured of by a strong dose of realism, my life has been one of someone always opposed to Leftie wreckers. And increasingly so, over the years.

Would I call that 'sad' ? On reflection, no. I'd use the word ..... 'inevitable'.
It's That Bloody Foreigner Again !!!

Drummond, you sound so much like me that I pity you, lol.

Like you, I cannot help but stay aware of the wrecking of humanity and all that is good by the left. I am working on a premise of a thread about very subject.

I went through my politically active stage before got married. I was involved in a lot of subversive activities. I was in protest marches and all number of ways to upend the evil Dubya government. Old school members who knew me during the USMB days can attest to the fact that I used to be a lot more radical than I am now.
I used to spend a lot of time thinking about the political struggle. Now, the only time I think about it is when I am on this board.
When I am not online, I could care less about left vs right, Dems vs. GOP. Like my daughter once said "they're all a bunch of crooks."
