I've never heard him speak like that. That shit was right out of Salon or Bartcop.

You don't think it's a positive thing for everyone to discuss the immigration mess instead of talking about staff changeups on The View?

    But it was National Review.

It's positive to talk about immigration, it's not positive to talk about how he talks about immigration.

It became a huge topic of conversation because of the way he talked about it.

Surely you're not suggesting that Trump was the first one ever to discuss the issue in front of a national audience.

Bombastically and with red-meat talking points? I won't disagree with that. I'm suggesting that he will be easily defeatable come general election time. If he's our guy then hopefully he is a reliable conservative with the ability to lead an administration and convince Congress that conservative ideals are superior.

I think it's very possible he won't make the nomination - and I don't think he'll go 3rd party, either. He's using that threat to be treated fairly and not sidelined without a fair shot, and I don't blame him.

Besides all that, I think everyone forgets that he didn't get where he is today by embracing liberal policies. He got where he is today by being a hardliner, and someone within his organization that doesn't perform at an exceptional level is tossed on his ear forthwith. I expect his cabinet would be the same.

But this is all premature. We'll know what kind of man he is in the next few debates.

And if the first one is any indicator, they should be entertaining as hell.

I think you're overstating what we can expect from a Trump cabinet. There are plenty of liberals who got to where they are but government is just too big that tossing someone out on their ear will really change anything. Besides I don't think we'll really learn anything more in the next debates.

I was thinking earlier about his overall electability. Some say Romney lost because some conservatives/evangelicals stayed home; if they stayed home over Romney then I don't see them turning out in droves for a man thrice married.

Add in the fact that, in the general election, Trump would lose 90 percent of the minority vote and 80 percent of the female vote.

Any conservative is likely to lose a high percentage of the minority vote. We are running out of intelligent white people to vote conservative.
